You need to tour the new model townhome at STUDIO 2 on Richmond!

It’s been about half a year since we last stepped foot on the Studio and Studio 2 site in Toronto. Once again, we had a chance to meet up with Armin Osmanovic, the Project Manager for Aspen Ridge Homes’ high-rise division. This time, we got to check out the new model townhome!
Nelson Street
There are 10 townhomes in total, all of which line Nelson Street on the south side of the site. The model townhome is Suite 16, which has a 910 square foot lower level and an 887 square foot upper level, for a total of 1,797 square feet of living space.
Model townhome - Suite 16
Suite 16 is a three-bedroom+den plan with one bedroom on the lower level and two on the upper level. In the model though, the bedroom on the lower level is decorated like a den. So it’s really up to you whether you would prefer a two-bedroom home with two dens or a three-bedroom home with one den on the upper level.

There is a bathroom on the lower level and each bedroom on the upper level has an ensuite. The master bedroom has one walk-in closet and a secondary closet that could be considered a walk-in if you decided to step into it.
Designed by Mike Niven, the model townhome boasts a contemporary twist on the beloved mid-century aesthetic. Osmanovic pointed out that the majority of the features and finishes in the model are standard, except for a few finishes in the kitchen and master ensuite, as well as the rounded wood entry wall. Even the glass railing on the staircase and the long beautiful kitchen island are standard.

Each of the 10 townhomes have roughly the same layout, but sizes range quite a bit from 1,233 to 1,812 square feet. All the townhomes have 9’ ceilings on the lower levels and 8’10” ceilings on the upper levels. Though there are 10 in total, there are only six available at the moment, and prices are starting from $1,249,990.
STUDIO 2 lobby
Last time we visited the site, we mostly toured the amenity spaces and penthouses at Studio. This time, we toured Studio 2’s amenities, which are a bit further behind than Studio, but Osmanovic explained that most of the amenities will be finished by the end of the month. Both towers have similar amenities (neither tower has something that the other doesn’t).
Fitness centre
“If you look at our brochure, what I like about the renderings is that pretty much, I’d say, about 99% of what we’ve shown in the brochure is exactly what it’s like,” Osmanovic said as he motioned towards his favourite feature of the fitness centre, the unique lighting fixture that spreads like a grid across the ceiling.
STUDIO 2 penthouse
After visiting the amenity spaces, we caught the elevator to the top penthouse level, where the framing is complete, but drywalling still needs to be done. Osmanovic said that the penthouses will make a lot of progress over the next couple months once they receive the final drawings from Niven so that the trades can start ordering their materials and finishes.
STUDIO 2 penthouse master-bedroom
One of our favourite areas of the penthouses is the open-concept master-bedroom. “Our Upper West Side in Thornhill has a similar concept; a master ensuite that’s open to the master bedroom. So, from your bed, you can see the freestanding tub,” Osmanovic explained. “It was extremely successful.”
View from penthouse
Niven has designed the master-bedroom so that the bed faces the soaring windows and views of Toronto, then behind the bed there is a luxurious soaker tub, a large shower stall, a separate stall with a toilet, and a vanity area. It’s probably difficult to picture now, but when we visit the penthouses a couple months from now, you’ll get the picture.
Visit the STUDIO presentation centre and model townhome!
In Studio, there are approximately 15 units available, including eight unreleased penthouses. There are two penthouses on the top level, and six on the floor below them. In Studio 2, there are roughly 79 units available, including the 10 townhomes (of which only six are available right now) and six unreleased penthouses. The majority of the inventory is on the upper floors.
