World Travellers and Dog Owners Will Love These New Models
By Lucas on Jun 10, 2015
With the completion of two new model suites at The Daniels Corporation’s HighPark Condominiums in Toronto, we were due for another visit. We met up with Dominic Tompa, the broker of record at CityLife Realty, Megan Aird, Communications & Social Media Coordinator at Daniels, and Michelle Cipolla, a designer at Tomas Pearce Interior Design Consulting, who is responsible for the decor in the two new model suites.
Idyllwood at HighPark Condos
The first model we visited was the Idyllwood, a 645 square foot, one-bedroom+den unit. “That’s our dog lover’s suite, so there’s somebody who’s going to take great advantage of the amenity space on the main level, the pet spa,” explained Cipolla. The suite had a dog bed, dog bowls, and a bin of dog toys near the window. Being situated across the street from High Park, it’s only natural that this condo has attracted many dog lovers. The Idyllwood plan starts at $431,900.

The second model we toured was the Ellis, a 467 square foot studio. “The studio apartment was kind of a pied-à-terre or perhaps for a young gentlemen, professional, and he was maybe a world traveller, so you see those dark masculine tones and there’s a little bit of like an old world feel, but still a bit modern,” said Cipolla. The Ellis plan is starting at $307,900, and Daniels is offering an additional incentive of $20,000 off.

Tompa explained that there is a selection of studios, one-bedrooms, and one-bedroom+dens available, ranging from 412 to 693 square feet, with prices starting at $278,900. All of the southern exposure units have sold, for obvious reasons. Just look at that view of High Park (below)! There are a few units available with western and eastern exposures, and the park (and even the lake in some cases) is still visible from the balconies.

We were surprised to find out that all of the two-bedroom units have sold. Usually, the remaining units in a condo development are the larger units. “I would say that this is a community that’s been heavily end-user bought, so there’s been more of the move-down and move-up buyers,” said Tompa. Again, the location is owed some credit for attracting the end-users. Having easy access to High Park, the Bloor subway line, and all the shops of Bloor West is pretty amazing. With the current incentives and down payment plans that Daniels is offering, they should easily find some young professionals and couples to purchase the remaining smaller units.

It’s pretty safe to say that the majority of the available units are on the north side of the building. We took a peek of the northern view, and it’s not bad at all! There are a few apartment buildings, but there are still more trees than downtown. On the north side of the building, there will be a laneway with access to the parking garage running from Oakmount to Pacific, and then there is a large piece of green space between the condo and the neighbouring building.
