Will Brampton be a Top Seller This Year?
By Lucas on Mar 24, 2015
Now that spring is upon us (though it doesn’t feel like it), Trimart Research Corporation is predicting that the Total Market Area (TMA) will see strong sales over the next few months. There were over 1,400 new low-rise sales in the TMA last February, which is 2.2% higher than in January, and 8% higher than the same period last year. Inventory levels have been stable around 11,850, which is good for now, but time will tell if its enough to satisfy the growing demand for low-rise housing.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Hawthorne Village - via Mattamy Homes
Taking the top spot on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list with a tremendous 118 sales last month is Hawthorne South Village, a Milton community by Mattamy Homes. Hawthorne South Village features village townhomes, two-storey townhomes, as well as 30’, 36’, and 43’ detached homes ranging from 1,044 to 3,252 square feet. Prices start from $332,990. It’s not surprising to see a Milton community by Mattamy in the top position this week since Trimart recently announced that Milton was the fourth best selling city for new low-rise homes in 2014, and Mattamy was the highest selling builder. This community, was actually the best selling low-rise site in all of the TMA last year.
Mount Pleasant North - via Mattamy Homes
Mattamy’s Mount Pleasant North/Village in Brampton saw 82 sales last month, so it snags second place. Last year, this community was the second best selling, so it makes sense that it’s second on this week’s list. Mount Pleasant features rear lane townhomes, two- and three-storey townhomes, and 30’ and 38’ detached homes, ranging from 1,362 to 2,808 square feet. Prices start as low as $354,990. Townhomes have been and will continue to be an affordable alternative to the rising price of detached living. In 2014, Brampton saw the most low-rise sales out of every city in the TMA, reaching nearly 5,000.
Springvalley - via Royal Pine Homes
We guess Brampton is going to have another successful year because the third spot is occupied by Springvalley, a community by Royal Pine Homes that had 32 sales last month. At Springvalley, Royal Pine is offering a selection of 40’ detached homes ranging from 2,840 to 3,375 square feet. These homes have price tags starting at $671,900.
Southfields - via Monarch
Coming in fourth with 25 sales last month is Village of Southfields, a Caledon community by Monarch. Village of Southfields features townhomes, semis, and 43’ and 50’ detached homes, ranging from 1,775 to 3,971 square feet. Prices start at $440,990. Late last year, there was news that Mattamy Homes purchased Monarch, so it looks like Mattamy will be securing a position as one of the TMA’s most popular builders (according to last year, they already are).
Willow Glen - via Brookfield Homes
Taking the final position on the Trimart Hot Spots list is Willow Glen, a community in Tottenham by Brookfield Residential. There were 22 sales at this community last month. Willow Glen features townhomes and a wide selection of 30’, 36’, 43’, and 50’ detached homes. Prices start from just $342,990.
