Will all the new low-rise releases satisfy the strong demand?
By Lucas on Feb 24, 2017
You should keep your eye out for more new low-rise sites opening in the first quarter of 2017, says Trimart Research Corporation. Demand for new low-rise housing is so strong that many builders aren’t even waiting until the busy spring time to launch. Mattamy Homes already had a sold out opening in Whitby earlier this year at Queen’s Common, and Minto has already sold out at Longbranch 2 in Toronto!
Despite the large amount of openings scheduled for March, there likely won’t be enough inventory released to satisfy the growing demand. With that, here are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Queen's Common by Mattamy Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Queen’s Common by Mattamy Homes. As mentioned, the project is now sold out after a successful opening. There were 80 sales in total; the community featured village homes, townhomes, and 30’, 36’, and 43’ detached homes, ranging from 1,044 to 3,264 square feet. We happen to know about a few builders with big plans for Whitby this year, so keep your eye on this town throughout 2017.
Minto Longbranch 2
Coming in second is the other sold out community we mentioned, Longbranch 2 in Toronto by Minto. This phase featured urban townhomes ranging from 981 to 1,357 square feet. Located near Long Branch GO station, this community has been a success from the get-go. Stay tuned for information about the next release!
Saddle Ridge by Greenpark
The third spot is taken by Saddle Ridge, a new home community in Milton by Greenpark. There were 13 sales at Saddle Ridge last month. The community features townhomes and 46’ detached homes ranging from 1,578 to 3,466 square feet. Prices start at $649,900 and reach up to more than $1 million.
The Estates of Emerald Woods by Regal Crest Homes
Coming in fourth with 10 sales last month is Estates of Emerald Woods in Brampton by Regal Crest Homes. The community features 45’ and 50’ detached homes ranging from 3,339 to 4,427 square feet with prices starting at $1,388,000. As the top selling cities in the TMA for new low-rise homes, expect to see many new launches in Brampton and Milton this year.
Pinehurst by Brookfield Homes
The final position on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by Pinehurst, a new home community in Paris by Brookfield Homes. With nine sales last month, there are only a few 43’ detached homes remaining, as well as a selection of 20’ townhomes. The 36’ detached homes are sold out, but there’s a new release coming soon. The homes range from 1,340 to 3,160 and prices start at $364,990.
