Why you should consider buying a new home in Bowmanville
By Lucas on Jan 27, 2016
If you are in the process of looking to move up from your downtown Toronto condo unit, or perhaps you are even looking for your first home purchase, then you should definitely see what Lancaster Homes has to offer at their Summervale community in Bowmanville.
There are many condo towers in Toronto that have been around for a few years now, and a considerable amount of these units are most likely housing first-time buyers. If you fall into this category, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that you’re considering selling your unit and buying a new low-rise home.
One obstacle that we’re sure you’ve encountered is the quickly rising prices of new low-rise homes in the suburbs close to the downtown core. This is one of the reasons why over the last year we’ve seen areas like Innisfil, East Gwillimbury, and Bowmanville become more popular among homebuyers. While they may be further out from the centre of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the areas are poised for growth, and now is the time to invest.

Think about Oakville, Milton, and Brampton 10 to 20 years ago. Towns and cities on the outskirts of the GTA and in surrounding areas like Simcoe County are currently in this phase, and if you’ve looked at any new homes in Oakville or Brampton today, you’ll find that prices have increased quite a bit, even in the last year.
That said, let’s take a look at what Summervale has to offer! The community features 38’ and 42’ detached singles, some of which are ravine lots. The floor plans are available in three- and four-bedroom designs, and range from 1,540 to 2,920 square feet. Prices for the available homes are starting in the mid $400,000s.
Some of the impressive interior features and finishes at Summervale include premium quality kitchen cabinetry, rain shower heads, solid oak handrails, stainless steel chimney fans over the stove, modern satin nickel finish hardware, and your choice of elegant glass inserts for the front door. There is also a natural gas line for a barbecue at the rear of the home, so hosting get togethers with neighbours and friends during the warmer months is always an option!

Located along the east side of Green Road, north of Brookhill Boulevard, Summervale is nestled next to a large pond, a creek, and a lush ravine. As we mentioned above, this area of Bowmanville is poised for development; in fact, directly east of the community, there is a proposal for a brand new public elementary school. There are many public and Catholic schools across Bowmanville, and Clarington Central Secondary School is only a minute or two from Summervale.
We brought up Bowmanville as if it were an area that had a lot of potential for future growth, and it it does, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t already a number of neighbourhood amenities that cater to young couples and growing families.
Just south of Brookhill Boulevard, you will discover a Walmart, Canadian Tire, an LCBO, and The Home Depot. For entertainment and other activities, there is a Cineplex near King Street, where you will also find a wide selection of restaurants, such as Thai Hotspot, Swiss Chalet, and some fast food options. The Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex is located slightly east of the Cineplex, and it features two NHL sized ice pads, two softball diamonds, a playground, and much more!
