VIDEO: Richard West House Move by Pinnacle
By Lucas on Oct 17, 2012
This time last year, we asked, why did the Richard West House cross the road? At the time, the answer was, to allow our friends over at Pinnacle International to start construction of Pinnacle on Adelaide, their latest downtown Toronto condominium project.
Since that time, Pinnacle has been super busy, like purchasing 1 Yonge St., and launching several new projects in Mississauga, but the time came, and the Richard West House needed to go back to its rightful spot.
Last month, we spent the day with our friends Tom Yim and Anson Kwok from Pinnacle International, documenting the move. While we were doing that, Pinnacle was also recording the lengthy process. As they did last year, Pinnacle brought in a multitude of cameras and set them up to catch every angle.
We would like to extend congratulations to our friends at Pinnacle for ensuring that our city's heritage is preserved. The Richard West House has now been returned to the site, and we eagerly await the plans for its future.
The Hariri Pontarini designed tower is set to rise 43 storeys, and will bring a bold new face to John and Adelaide with its sleek glass and steel exterior. The suites, ranging from one- and two-bedrooms, will feature exceptional layouts that will truly maximize the living space.
