There’s a new exclusive luxury home community coming to Scarborough! Geranium Homes recently launched Twelve on the Ravine, a collection of - you guessed it - 12 estate homes in the Highland Creek neighbourhood.
Geranium is known for taking an energy efficient approach to homebuilding, creating communities that exceed the Ontario Building Code. To preview their building practices, Geranium invited priority registrants on a Hard Hat Tour of an under construction Geranium home that is similar to the homes that will be built at Twelve on the Ravine. The under construction home was a sold 4,320 square foot Bloomington Woods model located north of Stouffville.
“We place a great deal of importance on the quality of our construction materials and the techniques we use to ensure our homes are built better than Ontario Building Code, a program we’ve named Geranium Green Plus,” explains marketing and sales manager, Stephanie Lane. “Hard Hat Tours provide important information about what goes into our homes at the framing stage, which allows us to show and explain our behind-the-wall building practices.”
The hour long tour was led by general site superintendent Brent Shaw and site superintendent Bill Jewel, who pointed out and explained various energy efficient technologies and materials being used in the construction of Geranium’s homes. The engineered raised heel trusses and draft protection were other highlights of the Hard Hat Tour.
When buying a new home, most people only consider what the exterior and interior look like - they rarely consider what’s going on behind the drywall. The inner workings of a home are as important as what you see on the outside (probably even more so). With energy efficiency becoming more of a priority for buyers, it makes sense to host tours like this. Once again, Geranium is ahead of the curve.
Twelve on the Ravine features 12 lots on Military Trail, near Old Kingston Road. The lots are 43’ wide and up to 300’ deep. There are four models, all of which are two storeys and have four-bedroom floor plans (some with the option for a fifth). The homes range from 3,047 to 3,882 square feet.
