Trimart: Strong January 2014 for New Low-Rise

Trimart Research Corporation is reporting that the new low-rise market showed great gains in January 2014. With a total of 1,252 sales in the Total Market Area (TMA), last January was the second best in the last six years. This number of sales is a 66.5% increase compared to December 2013, and a 37.9% increase compared to January 2013. Trimart credits great incentives on recent new openings and releases for the higher than usual numbers.
Listed below are a few notable sites of last month:
Placing first on this week’s Trimart report is Hawthorne Village, a Milton community by Mattamy Homes that saw 240 sales on a new release last month. Hawthorne Village features detached homes on 30’ and 36’ lots, as well as urban townhomes. The homes range from 1,044 to 2,824 square feet and prices start at $306,990.
Coming in second with 44 sales in its opening month is Bohemian Towns, a Waterdown community by Branthaven Homes. The townhomes range from 1,190 to 1,985 square feet and prices can be found as low as $289,990.
The third spot is taken by Valleylands, a Brampton community by Fieldgate Homes that saw 23 sales last month. Valleylands features detached homes on lots ranging from 38’ to 70’, as well as link homes. The homes range from 1,565 to 4,323 square feet and prices start as low as $409,990.
With 21 sales last month, fourth place is held by Minto’s Kingmeadow community in Oshawa. Kingmeadow features detached homes on 36’ and 43’ lots and a collection of townhomes. Sizes range from 1,068 to 3,502 square feet and prices start at $229,990.
The fifth spot is taken by another Oshawa community, U.C. by Tribute Communities, which saw 16 sales last month. U.C. features detached homes on 30, 36’, and 40’ lots, as well as a series of semis. The homes range from 1,444 to 5,578 square feet and prices start at $297,990.
Taking sixth place on this week’s Trimart report with 10 sales last month is Huron Woods, a Kitchener community by Freure Homes. Huron Woods features detached homes on 38’ lots, and a collection of townhomes. The homes range from 1,293 to 2,959 square feet and prices are as low as $251,900.
