Trimart: Strong Demand in the Suburbs

According to this week's Trimart Report, the demand for low-rise homes remains strong. Homebuilders from Ajax to Markham have seen good traffic, and thus, strong sales results. In the month of May, we witnessed new communities opening, ones that offered a strong product that was priced correctly. We should continue to see that in the coming months, as developers throughout the GTA open some highly sought after projects.

Listed below are some prominent sites for the month of May:

Leading off this week's Hotlist is Starlane Homes' Upper Unionville, which witnessed 60 sales in May. Located at the corner of Kennedy Rd. and 16th Avenue, Starlane offers townhomes, ranging in size from 1,630 to 2,253 square feet, with prices starting at $416,880. Upper Unionville also features semi-detached homes, ranging in size from 1,674 to 2,529 square feet, priced as low as $597,880. Finally, it features detached homes on 34' and 42' lots, ranging in size from 2,422 to 3,263 square feet, for as low as $838,880.

Second on this week's Hotlist is Westminster Woods, a development by Reid's Heritage Homes, which achieved 21 sales in May. Westminster Woods features detached homes on 30' and 36' lots, with units ranging from 1,496 to 2,968 square feet, and prices starting at $375,900. Westminster Woods also features two-storey and urban townhomes, ranging from 1,231 to 1,653 square feet, which are priced from $259,900. Reid's Heritage Homes also offers Urban Townhomes, ranging in size from 1,061 to 1,653 square feet, priced for as little as $210,400.

Third on this week's Trimart Hotlist, with a total of 10 sales, is Mulberry Meadows, a project by Sundial Homes. Located in Ajax, Mulberry Meadows features urban towns, ranging from 948 to 1,805 square feet, with prices starting at $229,990. Also available, are promenade towns, ranging from 1,406 to 2,167 square feet, priced as low as $276,990. They also feature detached homes on 30' lots, ranging from 1,195 to 2,052 square feet, and they are starting at $316,990.

Fourth on this week's Hotlist is Tranquility, a new project by Monarch Homes. Tranquility features detached homes on 40' lots, priced from $514,990. Located at the corner of Rossland Rd. E & Salem Rd. N in Ajax, Tranquility witnessed 10 sales in the past month.

Fifth on this week's Hotlist is Grand Central, a development by Brookfield Homes. Located in Bradford, Brookfield has been in high demand over the past month, boasting 10 sales. Grand Central features detached homes on 22' to 43' lots, sized from 1,350 to 3,174 square feet, priced at $324,990. Grand Central also features townhomes, ranging from 1,390 to 1,670 square feet, priced from $324,990.
