Trimart: All Signs Point to a Successful Summer for Low-Rise

With a strong first quarter and a great start to the second quarter, the new low-rise housing market is in store for a successful summer, says Trimart Research Corporation. There were 22 new site openings in April, which is 140% more than in April 2013. The second quarter started off with 2,387 new low-rise sales in April, and the Greater Toronto Area has seen 7,119 year-to-date sales as of the end of April.
Listed below are a few notable sites of the last month:
Taking the first spot on Trimart’s weekly report with 169 sales last month is Hawthorne Village, a Milton community by Mattamy Homes. Hawthorne Village features an extensive collection of townhomes, as well as 30’ and 36’ detached homes, ranging from 1,044 to 2,824 square feet. Prices start from $306,990.
Placing second is Lakeside by Empire Communities, a Brampton community that saw 82 sales last month. Lakeside offers townhomes, semi-detached homes, and 38’ detached homes, ranging from 1,254 to 3,211 square feet. Prices can be found as low as $349,990.
Coming in third is Stonehaven, National Homes’ Newmarket community, which opened in April with 78 sales. Stonehaven features 40’ detached homes ranging from 2,545 to 3,535 square feet. Prices start at $699,990.
Mattamy snags another spot on the Trimart report, coming in fourth with 59 sales at St. John’s Forest in Aurora. The community features village homes, townhomes, and 30’, 36’, and 45’ detached homes, ranging from 1,044 to 3,739 square feet. Prices start from $354,990.
Placing fifth is North 88, a Toronto community by Senator Homes that saw 48 sales in the opening month. North 88 features townhomes ranging from 1,501 to 2,007 square feet with prices starting from $799,900.
Coming in sixth with 36 sales during the opening month is Courtice North by Halminen Homes in Courtice. The community offers a collection of 30’ and 40’ detached homes ranging from 1,331 to 3,025 square feet with prices starting at just $357,990.
