Trimart: New Low-Rise Makes a Comeback!

According to Trimart Research Corporation, October 2013 marks a big comeback for the new low-rise market. October sales across the Total Market Area were up 51.3% compared to September, and up 22.2% from October 2012. Trimart reported 2,310 new low-rise sales for October 2013, which is the highest October in the last six years. Also, the new home inventory reached over 13,222 lots, the highest amount in the last three years.
Listed below are a few notable sites for October:
Placing first on this week’s Trimart report is The Preserve, an Oakville community by Mattamy Homes, which achieved 65 sales last month. The Preserve features an array of detached singles on 34’, 38’, 45’, and 50’ lots. The homes range from 1,988 to 5,453 square feet, and prices start at $624,990.
Coming in second, also with 65 sales is Upper Mount Pleasant by Paradise Homes. Located in Brampton, Upper Mount Pleasant features detached singles on 30’, 38’, 45’ lots, as well as semi-detached homes and townhomes. Sizes range from 1,470 to 3,480 square feet, and prices start at $359,990.
With 62 sales last month, Mulberry Meadows by Sundial Homes takes third place. Located in Ajax, Mulberry Meadows features detached singles on 30’, 36’, and 40’ lots, as well as semi-detached homes. The homes range from 1,328 to 2,768 square feet, and prices can be found as low as $348,990.
Fourth place is taken by Vales of Glenway by Mosaik Homes, a Newmarket community that saw 56 sales in its opening month. Vales of Glenway offers detached singles on 36’ and 55’ lots and a great selection of semi-detached homes ranging from 1,490 to 3,740 square feet. Prices are as low as $458,990.
Placing fifth is Dwell City Towns, a Toronto community by Menkes, which saw 44 sales in its opening month. Dwell City Towns features urban townhomes ranging from 643 to 1,506 square feet. Prices start at $279,990.
This week, we have a sixth spot on the Trimart report, which is taken by Minto’s Oshawa community, Kingmeadow. The popular community features detached singles on 36’ and 43’ lots and townhomes ranging from 1,068 to 3,502 square feet. There were 12 sales at Kingmeadow last month. Prices for available homes start at $229,990.
