Tridel Releases Renderings of AQUAVISTA at Bayside in Toronto
By Lucas on Oct 28, 2014
The time has come - the second residential building at Bayside Toronto has been revealed! Tridel has launched AQUAVISTA at Bayside, a unique mid-rise condo right on the shore of Lake Ontario.
The renderings were just released, and we are very excited by the unique design that New York firm, Arquitectonica, has come up with. As you can see in the rendering, the south side of the 13-storey building will curl north away from the water, as if it were opening up to the oncoming waves of the lake.

The second level rooftop is where the Aquavista Club Amenity Terrace will be located, which will feature an infinity pool with a sundeck, fire pits, numerous lounging areas, shading canopies, and beautiful landscaping. The ground floor area edging Merchants’ Wharf will house premium retail, restaurants, cafes, and patios. The way the building subtly steps back with terraces, combined with the signature curve of the south facade and the ground floor retail, makes it so that the condo perfectly blends in with the community, all while accenting Toronto’s waterfront as a whole.

The waterfront lifestyle in the east end
With the development of Bayside Toronto, the city is getting a brand new waterfront community. Currently, the only prominent hotspots near the water in this area are Sugar Beach, Sherbourne Common, and the Corus Entertainment building, which is just beautifully designed and has a few restaurants at ground level.
Bayside Toronto is a 13-acre master-plan by Tridel and Hines, with 2 million square feet of development, including office, retail, residential, and cultural space. There will be approximately 150,000 square feet of retail space coming to the waterfront, which will definitely make Bayside a destination spot in Toronto.

What we love about the development of the east end is that it’s so cohesive. All the new development is reflecting Toronto’s fascination with neighbourhood building, and it’s forcing developers to not only build single condo towers, but entire mixed-use communities that define blocks of prime Toronto real estate.
AQUAVISTA is only the second of six condominiums that will be developed at Bayside Toronto, so from an investment standpoint, now is the time to buy! Even though the east end is looking like the prime location in which to invest (according to Ben Myers recent Market Manuscript), we expect a lot of end-users to purchase at AQUAVISTA and the other condos at Bayside Toronto. Located right on the water, the master-plan is definitely a community that young families and working professionals will want to call home. There may even be a few homebuyers interested in the community to buy a second home. The closest thing to the style of living that Bayside Toronto will offer that already exists is the Harbourfront neighbourhood, but even Harbourfront doesn’t have a strip like Merchants’ Wharf, where people live right on the water’s edge.
