Tridel is celebrating the grand opening of SQ2 in Toronto!
By Lucas on Aug 27, 2015
The highly anticipated next phase of Tridel’s Alexandra Park master-plan in Toronto is now open! The first phase, SQ, is currently under construction and has sold very well, and we expect that SQ2 will follow suit.
First off, what we really like about Tridel’s approach to Phase 1 and 2 of Alexandra Park is the trendy architectural design choices that will make this community really stand out. SQ was designed by the award-winning firm, Teeple Architects, who are known for their modern, avante-garde approach to building design. SQ2 was also designed by Teeple, but the exterior is a darker charcoal colour and the overall shape is less abstract, almost as if both buildings were two separate pieces that could snap together. These two condos will be located steps from each other, so they will definitely complement one another when Alexandra Park is fully completed.
The suites at SQ2 come in a variety of floor plans, from one-bedrooms to three-bedrooms, ranging from 574 to 1,223 square feet. Let’s take a look at one of the smaller floor plans to give you an idea of the layout style at SQ2.

The 1K+D is a 723 square foot, one+den floor plan priced at $439,000, which is only about $600/square foot, which is pretty good for the amazing location at Queen and Spadina! Upon entry of the suite, the den is directly to your right, as well as the first bathroom. That’s right, this one+den has two bathrooms! The second one is an ensuite, privately located off the bedroom. The kitchen and dining area is completely open to the living space on the far end of the suite, where there are large windows, allowing natural sunlight to pour in throughout the day. This suite faces east, so you get the sun rise every morning. The bedroom also comes with a spacious walk-in closet, another rare find in a one+den suite. As for entertaining, 1K+D is great because the balcony is off the living room as opposed to the bedroom. That way, your guests can have full access to the balcony without you needing to open up your room to everyone.
Speaking of entertaining, SQ2 will feature a great collection of amenities. Whether you’re throwing a party, mingling with neighbours, or just need some quality time to yourself, the SQ2 amenities have you covered. There is a party room, fireplace lounge, private dining area with a kitchenette, a fitness centre with yoga/pilates studio, a sauna, spa lounge, and steam rooms. Clearly, relaxation and socializing are major points of focus at SQ2.

Those amenities are so great that you didn’t even realize that we hadn’t listed any of the outdoor amenities yet. There is a green roof, a sun deck for catching some rays, a hot tub, a barbecue and dining area, a parkette, and even a dog-friendly area.
The revitalization of Alexandra Park is one of Tridel’s largest undertakings, and we’re super grateful that they are the developer at the helm. The community is currently home to a beautiful park and some community housing, and once Tridel is done with it, it will be astounding. Tridel is adding new condos and townhomes, new co-op housing and revitalized Toronto Community Housing residences, as well as new open public park space, and revitalized sports courts.
