Can’t decide between living in the Garden District or Church-Wellesley Village? Good thing Stanley by Tribute Communities is now previewing!

Before we jump into how amazing Stanley is going to be for this area of Toronto, let’s take a look at why this neighbourhood is already pretty great. Listed below are three reasons why you should call Church and Carlton home.

1) The convenient connection to transit

When Carlton hits Yonge street, which is steps away, Carlton becomes College. There are stops for the College/Carlton streetcar at Jarvis, Church, and Yonge, so whether you’re headed east, west, north, or south, you’re always seconds away from transit.

When travelling west, the College streetcar connects with the Yonge-University subway line (twice), the Spadina streetcar and the Bathurst Streetcar. The transit options are so reliable and accessible that Walkscore.com gives Church and Carlton a 100 out of 100 Transit Score, which means it is a “Rider’s Paradise” that offers “world-class public transportation.”

2) You’ll be steps away from everything

The Transit Score is impossible to beat, but the Walk Score comes close to matching it with a whopping 98 out of 100. Church and Carlton is a “Walker’s Paradise” because the vast majority of your daily errands shouldn’t require a car.

When you live downtown, one of the most important amenities that you need within walking distance is a grocery store. While living at Stanley, you’ll be surrounded by food markets, plus one of the city’s best Loblaws is a stone’s throw away. Literally, you could throw a stone and hit the Loblaws.

To be honest, we didn’t realize how pedestrian friendly this neighbourhood is until we looked it up on Walkscore.com. In addition to being rideable and walkable, Church and Carlton is also a “Biker’s Paradise,” with a Bike Score of 92.

The area is pretty flat, making for easy riding, and there are plenty of nearby bike lanes. The closest bike lanes to Church and Carlton can be found on Gerrard Street, Sherbourne Street, Wellesley Street, Bay, and College.
