New low-rise sales in the Total Market Area (TMA) are off to a great start for 2016, according to Trimart Research Corporation’s latest report. The fact that the Bank of Canada maintained its overnight rate at 0.5% and has forecasted that the Canadian economy will grow by 1.5% in 2016 and 2.5% in 2017 has instilled confidence in Ontario’s homebuyers.
Trimart also released some final numbers for 2015, announcing the top five areas with the most new low-rise sales for the year. Brampton took first place with an astounding 6,661 sales, while Milton followed way behind with 1,552 sales. Oakville slipped into third with 1,519 sales, and Barrie and East Gwillimbury had 1,271 and 1,215, respectively.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Cranberry Hill by Mattamy Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Cranberry Hill, a Mattamy Homes community in Waterdown that had 47 sales last month. Cranberry Hill features a wide variety of home types, including two-storey townhomes, rear lane townhomes, village homes, and 30’ and 36’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,139 to 2,752 square feet, and prices start at just $324,990. It’s interesting that the top position on this week’s Hot Spots list isn’t taken by an area in one of 2015’s top five.
Kingmeadow by Minto
Coming in second with 12 sales last month is Kingmeadow, a master-planned Oshawa community by Minto. Currently, there is a selection of 43’ detached homes ranging from 2,514 to 2,968 square feet available, with prices starting at $677,990. Minto has a new release of townhomes on the way, as well as a collection of 36’ detached homes. You’ll have to keep your eye on Kingmeadow if you’re interested in a new home in Oshawa!
Grand Central by Brookfield
Tying for second, we have Grand Central in Bradford by Brookfield Homes. This community is comprised of 33’, 36’, 40’, and 43’ detached homes, ranging from 2,030 to 3,290 square feet. Valleylands by Fieldgate Homes
With eight sales last month, the third spot is taken by Valleylands, Fieldgate Homes’ very successful community in West Brampton.
