The third quarter of 2016 is expected to end with a surge in new home sales
By Lucas on Aug 30, 2016
According to the latest report from Trimart Research Corporation, new low-rise sales across the Total Market Area (TMA) saw a significant decrease, but you should expect the third quarter to pick up in September.
There were 1,107 new low-rise sales across the TMA in July 2016, which is a 27.1% year-over-year decrease and a 38.5% decrease compared to June 2016. With over 30 new openings and releases planned for the fall, Trimart believes that there will be a surge of new low-rise sales to end the third quarter.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Tormina Towns by Luvian Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Tormina Towns by Luvian Homes. With 38 sales last month, this successful Whitby community is now sold out. Tormina Towns featured townhomes ranging from 1,488 to 2,317 square feet with prices starting at $529,990. Whitby is becoming a popular area for new low-rise homes as more families begin to look to the outskirts of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for more home options.
Downsview Park by Mattamy Homes
Following closely in second with 36 sales last month is Downsview Park by Mattamy Homes. This popular Toronto community features stacked townhomes and 40’ and 50’ detached homes ranging from 555 to 3,329 square feet. If you want prices on this one, you’ll have to visit the sales centre. Book your appointment by calling 647-348-2509.
Residences of 16th Avenue by DiGreen Homes
Coming in third with 34 sales last month is the Residences of 16th Avenue by DiGreen Homes. Located in Markham, the community offers a collection of townhomes ranging from 1,488 to 2,317, with prices from $699,990. As new low-rise supply continues to drop, expect townhomes to sell very quickly and sell for higher and higher.
Country Lane by Andrin Homes
In the fourth position, we have another Whitby community. Country Lane by Andrin Homes has been very successful and there were 33 sales last month. The 26’, 36’, and 45’ detached homes range from 1,827 to 3,334 square feet, but you’ll have to wait for a new release before purchasing at Country Lane.
Greenfields by FarSight Homes
Coming in fifth on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list with 28 sales last month is Greenfields by FarSight Homes. The success of this Alliston community serves as the perfect example of how buyers are continuing to search for new homes outside of the GTA because of better prices and wider selection. Greenfields features townhomes and 32’ and 40’ detached homes, ranging from 1,239 to 2,619 square feet. Prices start from just $339,900.
