The Kennedys Condos is coming soon to Scarborough!

The Scarborough skyline is about to get a bit taller, thanks to The Kennedys Condos, a new two-tower master-planned condo development by SAMM Developments.

Not a lot of information has been released yet, but we know enough to understand that everyone should be excited about this new project. The Kennedys Condos will rise at 2035 Kennedy Road, next to a luxury four-star hotel, just north of Highway 401. There will be a shared open-air, landscaped plaza between the two towers, inspired by the grand courtyards found in European architecture.

While we all await more information about The Kennedys Condos, let’s take a look at why this neighbourhood is prime for a new high-rise residential development. First of all, Highway 401 and 404/Don Valley Parkway are nearby, so if you prefer to commute by car, then you’re covered. If you prefer to hop on transit and use your morning commutes for reading, then you’ll appreciate the close proximity to the Agincourt GO Rail Station and Midland TTC.

When it comes to your weekly retail therapy sessions, you will find yourself at Scarborough Town Centre, which is less than 10 minutes away from The Kennedys Condos by car and features more than 230 retailers. Kennedy Commons is another retail centre that’s actually even closer to the condo! It’s just south of the 401, so if you drive it will take one minute, and if you walk it will take around eight minutes. Our suggestion - leave the car at home (unless you plan on buying more than you can carry).

Outdoor plaza

In addition to the stunning outdoor plaza, The Kennedys Condos is surrounded by many parks and recreation opportunities. A few of the closest parks include, Metrogate Park, Inglewood Heights Park, Collingwood Park, Birkdale Park, and Glamorgan Park. These parks are great for a variety of outdoor activities, and some of them (like Glamorgan) feature baseball diamonds, outdoor basketball courts, and splash pads.

We are assuming that there will be some sort of fitness centre at The Kennedys Condos, but if you’re looking for other recreational facilities, then Ellesmere Community Centre is your best bet. Ellesmere features a gymnasium, a crafts room, weights and fitness area, a kitchen and a preschool. The centre also offers a variety of adult and children programs, such as art classes, cooking seminars, and fitness classes. Outdoors, the centre features mini soccer fields, a playground, and a skate park.     

To keep your new kitchen well stocked, there is a No Frills to the north and a Metro to the south, both just minutes away. You can’t have home cooked measl every day though - sometimes you need to go out and enjoy the local restaurants! There is an amazing Japanese restaurants steps from The Kennedys Condos, and there are many other fantastic options around Kennedy Commons.
