Patrick O’Hanlon, President of Kylemore Communities, has been honoured with the G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Award for his contributions to the Centre for Urban Research and Land Development (CUR).

Just weeks after giving the alumni speech to the graduating class of Urban Planning at Ryerson University for the second consecutive year, O’Hanlon’s alma mater nominated him for the G. Raymond Chang Award.

“Receiving this award is a real honour. The dedication of Professor David Amborski, Ryerson faculty and industry colleague including Frank Clayton, made it possible to establish this important centre for research,” said O’Hanlon.

The G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizes the generosity and philanthropy of alumni and friends of Ryerson University. The award was named in honour of G. Raymond Chang, Officer of the Order of Canada and former Chancellor of Ryerson University because of his deep belief in volunteering. The business leader and philanthropist took part in 95 convocations and awarded 30,000 degrees and diplomas.

Established in 2013, CUR is an expert-led research centre dedicated to formulating policies and solutions to challenges regarding growth and urban development across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Uniting economics and market analysis with social and environmental considerations makes CUR a unique and highly regarded facility.

Kylemore Communities

We recently had the pleasure of chatting with Patrick O’Hanlon at Kylemore’s annual Angus Glen Barbecue in Markham. He gave us a brief history of Kylemore and shared some exciting news about what he has in store for the city.

Kylemore purchased the York Downs Golf and Country Club, which is just south of Angus Glen. The plan is to take what they’ve learned in Angus Glen and continue growing the prestigious community. Kylemore is working with Metropia and Minto to develop the master-plan, which will feature approximately 2,400 homes.

We’re happy to see that Kylemore has had such an amazing 20th year so far and we wish Patrick O’Hanlon a big congratulations on receiving the G . Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Award!
