The Countdown to the Exciting Trailwoods Launch Begins!
By Lucas on Jul 09, 2015
Let the countdown begin - Reid’s Heritage Homes will be launching Trailwoods, a new low-rise community off the shore of Georgian Bay in Thornbury in August 2015.
Trailwoods will feature a selection of detached bungalows, ranging from 1,510 to 1,939 square feet, all of which will have two-bedroom floor plans with two or 2.5 bathrooms. Some of the notable interior features and finishes include natural gas fireplaces, granite countertops, ceramic tile, and hardwood flooring. The homes will be starting at $499,900.
The garden lots will back on to the Georgian Trail, which follows the North Grey trail line that connects Collingwood, Thornbury, and Meaford. The scenic surrounding ensures privacy, peacefulness, and a welcoming atmosphere to call home. And that’s all the information you get for now! Reid’s Heritage Homes will be releasing more information over the coming weeks, and you need to register to receive the updates.

Buying a new home in Thornbury
Trailwoods is nestled between Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment, just minutes from Collingwood and the Blue Mountain area. In this upcoming community you will be getting the best of what Ontario’s landscape has to offer! Also, the temperatures in Thornbury are more moderate than other parts of Ontario, which makes the growing season longer, benefitting all the green thumbs out there. For over a century, Thornbury and Beaver Valley have been the largest apple growing areas with vast, stunning orchards.
Of course, being situated near Georgian Bay, there are a number of amenities that you will only find in a waterside community. The beach and yacht club are nearby, there’s a shop that rents and sells paddle boards for paddleboarding, and sailing is always an option if you’re an avid sailor. Since the terrain is ideal for an active lifestyle, there are a number of local clubs to join to meet other people in the community who share the same interests, such as Blue Mountain Golf Club and Toronto Ski Club.
So, the natural landscape offers opportunities for outdoor activities all year, and the downtown neighbourhood has everything else you need! There is a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Reid’s Heritage Homes chatted with some of the locals to figure out which spots were the favourites, and apparently you have to try The Dam Pub, which was featured on The Food Network’s show “You Gotta Eat Here.” The independent cafe, Ashanti, serves up coffee that was grown on their own farm in East Africa. And the Cheese Factory is the best place to go after a day of skiing or snowboarding for a cheese platter or fondue.

Register for Trailwoods right now
Reid’s Heritage Homes will be inviting registrants for the first viewing of the homes in August. There will also be a model home opening for all prospective homebuyers to tour. The model will be of The Foxfire, a 1,629 square foot model with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. With a large front porch, columns, and stone detailing, we think this model will look incredible when it’s open for touring.
The sales centre is not open yet, but when it is, it will be located at 175 High Bluff Lane and operate from Thursday to Monday from 12 pm to 5 pm and weekends from 1 pm to 5 pm.
