The Colours of Emerald City is Now Under Construction!

Wow, things are rolling along quickly at Emerald City, ELAD CANADA’s master-planned condo community in North York. It seems like only yesterday that they were launching the second phase of the community, and now the first condo of the new phase, The Colours of Emerald City, is officially under construction!

The ELAD team and councillor of Ward 33, Shelley Carroll, were in attendance for the ceremonial dirt throwing to kick off the construction work on the site. Now that construction is under way, ELAD is giving homebuyers one last chance to take advantage of preconstruction pricing by offering a limited time promotion of up to $8,000 off the purchase price of a new condo at The Colours of Emerald City. With prices starting in the mid $200,000s, that’s a significant amount of savings!

The groundbreaking isn’t the sole source of excitement at Emerald City’s North York site. On June 20th, Douglas Coupland and ELAD will officially unveil the Four Season public art project. The art piece is comprised of four giant cones, standing from 48 to 60 feet, and are striped with bright colours. There are also seven cylinders around the community that are part of the art piece. If you’re interested in hearing a few words about the work from Douglas Coupland, be there at 1 pm sharp! The ceremony will be held at the presentation centre at the corner of Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue.

Guess what - there’s a third reason you need to visit Emerald City as soon as possible. Earlier this month, ELAD opened a brand new model suite for The Colours of Emerald City, designed by II By IV Design. Part of the model suite’s design is actually inspired by Coupland’s art. “The public art definitely had an influence on our choices,” says II By IV’s Dan Menchions. “As designers, we also see the use of colour as being relevant in all interiors going forward, mainly in artwork and accessories.”

“The abstract painting over the bed brings together all of the colours in the room,” Menchions adds, using the decor choices in the master bedroom as an example. “And the large piece on the wall with the abstract human figure is from Japan. It speaks to the language of the suite’s décor.” A few other interior features and finishes include 9’ ceilings, quartz or granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances.

When construction at The Colours of Emerald City is complete, the condo will stand 13 storeys and will share an amenity floor with a second condo, which will surely be selling soon. A few of the amenities that will be shared include a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment, a hot tub and pool, a terrace with barbecues and dining areas, as well as party room, dining room, lounge, theatre, and games room.
