Tarion Customer Centre Houses Monthly Education Seminars Tarion Warranty Corporation will be offering educational seminars in the Customer Centre for consumers who would like detailed information about what is involved in purchasing a new home,. The first seminar called Buying a New Home will feature a panel of industry experts who will guide new home buyers through the purchasing process and provide helpful tips. In addition, Tarion representatives will explain the terms and benefits of the warranty which all builders are required to provide to new home buyers in Ontario.

A second seminar called Understanding Warranty Coverage has been designed for homeowners who would like to better understand their warranty rights and responsibilities and what is involved in making a claim. Both seminars will be free of charge and offered monthly.

Located in North York, the Tarion Customer Centre is a walk-in facility in a retail mall setting at 5150 Yonge Street that is easily accessible by car or public transit. Tarion staff are available to answer questions about new home warranty coverage and provide assistance to homeowners who are submitting warranty claims. A touch screen interactive kiosk offers a self-service option for those looking for information from the Tarion website such as the warranty claims history for all registered builders in the province.

Tarion Warranty Corporation is a private corporation established in 1976 to administer the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act which outlines the warranty protection that all builders must provide to new home and condominium buyers in Ontario. Tarion licenses all home builders in the province, and ensures that builders provide the warranty coverages in the legislation. Since inception, over 1.2 million homes have been enrolled by the Corporation.
