Talking Love Condos with Yan Wang

In celebration of Chinese New Year, we interviewed Yan Wang of Gemterra Development Corporation about Love Condominiums and Townhomes in Scarborough. Wang has a rich history of developing in China, and it is very exciting that he is using his expertise to enhance this already vibrant Scarborough neighbourhood.

How far along is the construction at Love Condos? What is the scheduled completion date?

YW: Construction is well under way, with the amenity building, the first 5 floors of the tower and townhouse structures already completed. Occupancy and move-in is set for fall of 2014.

How is Gemterra catering to the Chinese community at Love? Why is this Scarborough location the perfect spot for Love?

YW: This neighbourhood in Scarborough is surrounded by services and organizations that cater to the growing multicultural community. Simply walk a few steps and residents can shop at Agincourt or at Pacific Mall up the road or enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many Chinese restaurants located nearby. Love is more than a condo building, it's a community. Without even leaving your home, you can get involved with a familiar community. You're surrounded by services and organizations geared towards newcomers and celebrating a rich heritage.

How do you think people outside of the Chinese community will respond to Love?

YW: Love is designed so that all amenity and recreation spaces and all units accommodate and cater to residents of all ages, creating a strong community. The private courtyard is designed for entertaining, with barbecues and plenty of outdoor seating for hosting. Inside the amenity building there is a yoga and a fitness area that appeals to exercise enthusiasts, as well as a hot tub and swimming pool that is a relaxing retreat for all ages. The rooftop garden includes a passive space for exercise, Tai Chi and relaxing. There is something for everyone at Love Condominiums and all the amenity and recreation spaces are designed to bring people together.

Will Gemterra be doing anything special to celebrate the Chinese New Year?

YW: Chinese New year is a joyful time of the year.  Love will be celebrating with family and friends to mark the beginning of the year of the Horse.
