Stacked Saddle Towns coming soon at Kingmeadow in Oshawa!
By Lucas on Jan 20, 2016
Minto’s Kingmeadow community in Oshawa is one we’ve kept a close eye on over the last few years. Ever since Kingmeadow first launched, it’s been one of the most successful and popular communities in Oshawa, and now there’s another reason to take notice. Minto is collecting registrations for Berkshire Abbey - Stacked Saddle Towns, which will soon be released at Kingmeadow!
What we really like about Kingmeadow is the wide variety of home types Minto is building and bringing to Oshawa. The Bridle townhomes are sold out, along with the 36’ singles, the traditional towns, and 43’ singles. As of November 2015, there were still some single detached homes available in The Ravine Collection, some of which reached nearly 3,000 square feet.
Lexington - The Ravine Collection
The stack Saddle Towns will feature one- and two-bedroom flats, as well as two- and three-bedroom two-storey units. The homes will range from 700 to 1,500 square feet. This is an exciting opportunity for first-time buyers and young couples looking to move up out of their small downtown condo unit.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the majority of first-time buyers depend on the Greater Toronto Area’s condo market in order to make their entry into homeownership, but not everyone wants to live in a high-rise or even a mid-rise. The smaller flats in the Saddle Towns collection will definitely provide many options for these types of buyers.
There are also many young singles and couples living downtown Toronto in 350 to 500 square foot condo units who are ready for more space but can’t quite afford to make the leap to a fully detached home, especially with rising prices for this specific home type. A two-storey unit over 1,000 square feet in a quickly developing master-planned community could very well be the next logical step!
Not only is Minto a trustworthy builder, Kingmeadow has won numerous awards, including Best New Home Design – Production Built (under 1,600 sq. ft.) and the Community of the Year Award, presented by the Durham Region Home Builders’ Association (DRHBA). It’s clear that Kingmeadow is a sound investment whether you’re making your first home purchase, moving up, or even if you’re looking for a smaller living space now that the children have left the nest!
The Kingmeadow lifestyle
Located at Winchester Road East and Simcoe Street North, Kingmeadow is just minutes north of all that Oshawa has to offer. That’s the second thing we really like about the community; it’s situated conveniently close to neighbourhood amenities, but not too close, so the community has an intimate, tranquil atmosphere.
A few major Oshawa mainstays near Kingmeadow include the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Kedron Dells Golf Club is a drive and a pitch away, and the Eldorado Golf Club is just a few minutes in the opposite direction.
Only a short drive to the south, near UOIT, there are many recreation complexes, including yoga studios, fitness facilities, health and wellness centres, ice pads, and many parks. There are also many restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs, so dining out is an option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In addition to UOIT, there are a few other schools nearby, some of the closest being Kedron Public School, Father Joseph Venini Catholic School, and Sherwood Public School. So, if you’re a young couple looking for a home large enough to start a family, you know there are many school options in the neighbourhood!
