Spring Openings a Huge Success in the GTA
By Lucas on May 12, 2015
As we are about halfway through the second quarter of the year, Trimart Research Corporation is forecasting continued and steady sales growth for the GTA’s and Southern Ontario’s new low-rise market. According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, housing starts were trending up in April but the standalone SAAR was down. With many new releases and openings coming up over the next month, sales will definitely stay strong.
The spring has been traditionally successful for new openings, so below is Trimart’s Hot Spots list of a few notable low-rise sites that had especially successful openings last month:
Aurora Glen - via Lindvest
Placing first on this week’s Trimart report is Aurora Glen, a new tremendously successful community by Lindvest. During the opening weekends at Aurora Glen, there were 110 sales! The homes of this community are detached singles on 34’, 38’, and 44’ lots, with sizes ranging from 2,058 to 3,850 square feet. Prices start in the mid $700,000s. As mentioned in previous Trimart reports, Aurora is a town to watch this year, as there are many builders launching new communities during the spring and summer.
Queensville - via Aspen Ridge Homes
Coming in a close second with 100 sales during its opening month is Queensville by Aspen Ridge Homes. This Queensville community features 25’ townhomes, as well as 36’ and 45’ detached homes, ranging from 1,413 to 3,040 square feet. Prices start at just $443,990. Aspen Ridge is currently offering an incentive, giving homebuyers the opportunity to put thousands of dollars towards decor upgrades.
Queensville - via Lakeview Homes
Third place is taken by another builder’s offering at Queensville. Lakeview Homes saw 80 sales during the opening month of the community. Their selection features link semis and singles on 24’ lots, and 36’ and 45’ detached homes, ranging from 1,625 to 3,325 square feet. Prices start at $459,990. Lakeview is also offering decor dollars to homebuyers, as well as free appliance packages! There are three great builders at Queensville...so don’t be surprised if another one of them makes an appearance on this Hot Spots report.
Chelsea Towns - via Andrin Homes
The fourth position is taken by Chelsea Towns by Andrin Homes, which had 34 sales during its opening month. This Maple community features townhomes ranging from 1,837 to 2,113 square feet, with prices starting at $654,800. Andrin Homes is offering a bonus five-appliance package, plus $7,500 of decor upgrades.
Queensville - via CountryWide Homes
Placing fifth is - you guessed it - Queensville. This time it’s CountryWide Homes’ collection of 25’ townhomes, and 36’ and 45’ detached homes that had a great opening weekend, selling 32 homes. The homes range from 1,652 to 3,214 square feet and prices start at $519,990. Like the other builders at Queensville, CountryWide is also offering incentives, including decor dollars and a free appliance package.
