Sneak Peek of The Academy Condos Presentation Centre

Recently, Newinhomes.com had the opportunity get a sneak peek of the under construction, two-storey Academy Condos presentation centre. Devron Developments and Lemine Group haven’t scheduled an opening yet, but things are moving along smoothly.
Upon entering the presentation centre, the first thing we noticed was the new model of the building. Using the model, Pouyan Safapour, Vice-President of Operations, Devron, pointed out where all the amazing amenities are going to be.
“There will be some retail, restaurants, an urban, boutique grocery store, and a coffee shop on the corner on the ground floor,” Safapour explained. “On the second floor we have a gym and yoga studio, with an outdoor yoga studio, a firepit, and an outdoor mini-putt in the corner. The third floor is a more quiet setting where there is a private meeting and sitting area. The fourth floor has a games room, a party room, an indoor theatre, and a dining lounge with a kitchen. The fifth floor has a double height lounge meant for active and social hangouts; it connects to the terrace where there are barbecue stations and lounging areas, a tanning area, and an outdoor theatre.”
Next to the Academy model, Devron and Lemine feature a community scale model of the Scarborough neighbourhood, highlighting where the Academy will be in relation to the current University of Toronto campus, the new aquatic centre, Centennial College, an under construction University of Toronto building, and all the future buildings of a master-plan at a neighbouring site, which will see one new building a year. And when we say ‘highlighting,’ we mean literally lighting up; there is a handy controller that allows you to single out certain buildings.
On the second floor, we thought there was going to be a model suite - we were half right. Devron and Lemine have installed a giant screen where people can select a floorplan to view. “People can walk through, look at the kitchen, move onto the living room, and go all the way to the balcony,” Safapour said.
He also explained that higher units (The Academy will stand 26 storeys) will even have the ability to look out the windows and see what the view would be like. We have to say, we’ve never been to a presentation centre with a model suite like this. We like the idea of it because it gives prospective purchasers the ability to view more than one plan.
