See You at the Harmony Village Sheppard Groundbreaking!

The wait is almost over - City Core Developments just announced that they will be celebrating the official groundbreaking ceremony at Harmony Village Sheppard on Saturday, May 30, 2015, and you’re invited!
Starting at 11 am at 3260 Sheppard Avenue East, there will be speeches and a ribbon cutting to commemorate the development’s milestone. It’s always an exciting time when a new community or condo tower breaks ground because it’s when the site starts to change and it means that sales are going well!
Appetizers and cool refreshments will be served at the outdoor ceremony, and then when everyone moves into the sales centre for a VIP sales event, hot beverages and light snacks will be served. The VIP sales event is your last chance to take advantage of pre-construction pricing. It’s great that City Core Developments is giving this opportunity to prospective homebuyers because once that dirt starts turning, prices tend to go up.
The 30-storey development by Page + Steele/IBI Group Architects will feature a total of 291 units, with available floor plans ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, many of which feature den space. The units range from 388 to 1,800 square feet with prices starting as low as $181,500.
The units of Harmony Village Sheppard are designed based on a Universal Design philosophy, meaning that the units are functional and accessible by everyone. For example, the showers will be easy access, light switches will be installed lower, and there will be wheelchair access everywhere. All of the Universal Design features promote safety, independence, and freedom for all residents.
Other fantastic unit features include 9’ and 10’ ceilings, quartz countertops in the bathrooms and kitchens, porcelain tile flooring, and balconies and terraces (as per plan). There is also hydronic in-floor heating within five feet of all the window walls. Another interesting heating feature is the geothermal snow melted walkways in some areas of Harmony Village, which decrease the chance of ice forming and the risk of slipping.
Out of all the condos we have seen developed in the GTA, we have to say, Harmony Village has to be near the top of the list for the most impressive building amenities. There are water features in many of the social lounge areas, there’s a tranquil zen garden, an interior bio-wall, a state-of-the-art fitness facility with a yoga/tai chi/dance studio, a music and karaoke room, and even a wine cellar where a wine club will convene and hold events. That’s not even half of the amenities included. Phase 2 of Harmony Village will also bring some new amenities, including a rooftop planting and winter garden, a salon/spa, travel agency, and tuck shop, as well as a private theatre room.
We especially like the amount of blue space and green space included at Harmony Village because of all we’ve recently learned about the psychological benefits of being around natural surroundings in the home. Also, all the spaces at Harmony Village were designed with the aid of a Feng Shui expert, and we’ve recently discovered and started to appreciate the art and science behind the practice of Feng Shui. Without a doubt, Harmony Village is an appropriate name for this new Toronto condo community.
