The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) revealed the finalists of the 2016 OAA Awards a little over a month ago. Today, we’re happy to share the winners with you, recognizing the best in Ontario architecture over the last year.

The most prestigious of the awards is for Design Excellence. The winners encapsulate what it means to build and design a high quality, unique building with regards to creativity, context, sustainability, good design, good business, and its legacy factor. There were nearly 200 submissions for the Design Excellence category and the OAA has announced 10 winners!

The OAA have announced the winners of all the other categories as well, except for three, which will be announced at the awards show on May 13 at the Allstream Centre in Toronto. Concluding the 2016 OAA Annual Conference, every winner will be recognized and the winners of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award, Michael V. & Wanda Plachta Award, and People’s Choice Award will be announced.

The People’s Choice Award gives you the opportunity to play judge. You can vote for your favourite design by an Ontario architect between April 5th and April 20th.
