SCALA is coming soon to Bayview Village!
By Lucas on Oct 14, 2015
The stepped building design has become quite popular in Toronto thanks to its more gentle impact on the streetscape, less shadowing, and more spaces for rooftop terraces. One of the most recent stepped condo designs to make waves in Toronto’s new condo market is Tridel’s SCALA development in Bayview Village.
Tridel is currently in the registration phase for SCALA, so not much has been released yet, except for the location along Leslie Street, just north of Sheppard Avenue East, and the starting prices. SCALA will have suites starting from the $300,000s, plus a signature terrace collection ranging from the mid $700,000s to over $1.5 million. Like most of Tridel’s communities, there is something for everyone at every price point, ensuring a healthy mix of residents.
SCALA in Bayview Village
As you’ve probably noticed from Tridel’s most recent master-planned communities across the GTA, they really know how to recognize a neighbourhood and design a community to its strengths. Whenever Tridel steps foot in a neighbourhood, you can bet that the neighbourhood is a good investment for homebuyers.
From waterfront properties to revitalization developments in the downtown core, and master-planned tower communities along transit lines, Tridel has more than proven that they know how to complement and augment a high potential area.
That said, it’s not difficult to see why Tridel is developing this beautiful condo in Bayview Village. As one of Toronto’s more affluent areas, Bayview Village maintains a balance between contemporary living and a countryside atmosphere.
Much of the original low-rise housing in Bayview Village still stands today and many of them have been renovated or updated. Most of the new high-rise development has been along Sheppard Avenue, so northern views of the beautiful homes and vast parkland remain unobstructed.
The East Don Parklands features many trails for walking, jogging, and cycling, and it is probably the largest green space in the area. Other parks and parkettes near SCALA include Villaways Park, Clarinda Park, and Alamosa Park.
The majority of your neighbourhood amenities that you need on a daily basis, such as grocery stores and restaurants, can be found along Sheppard Avenue. Plus, Bayview Village Shopping Centre has over 100 shops, featuring high-end fashion retailers, specialty foods, and other services like dental care and banks.
Getting around the neighbourhood and the rest of Toronto is super easy from SCALA thanks to the close proximity to the Sheppard Subway and the Oriole GO Station Rail. Fairview Mall is only one subways stop away and you can get to Union Station in downtown Toronto in about a half hour!
If you’re a driver, you’ll enjoy easy access to the 401 by simply driving south down Leslie for a couple minutes, and the 404/DVP isn’t much further.
