Richlands is coming to Richmond Hill early this year!

One of the most highly anticipated new low-rise communities expected to launch early this year is Richlands in Richmond Hill by Arista Homes, DECO Homes, Fieldgate Homes, and OPUS Homes. We recently had the opportunity to chat with Jim Andrews, Director of Sales & Marketing, Fieldgate Homes to learn more about Richlands.
“We’re very excited to bring 43’ and 36’ single detached homes to Richmond Hill, as well as 28’ semis and freehold townhomes,” Andrews says. “There are many opportunities at Richlands with a variety of layouts accommodating couples and families of all sizes.”
Each builder will bring a unique collection of detached homes, semis, and townhomes to Richlands. While the home designs will be unique, they will still complement one another from collection to collection, ensuring a cohesive streetscape that is vibrant and pleasing to the eye.
We’ve had the pleasure of touring amazing model homes by Arista, Fieldgate, and OPUS, some of which were award-winning. We can tell you for a fact that they all build high quality homes perfect for a family lifestyle. We haven’t toured a DECO Homes model before, but they are keeping good company. If Arista, Fieldgate, and OPUS are building alongside DECO, then we’re excited to see what they bring to the table.
There’s a lot going on in Richmond Hill as far as new residential development goes, but we think Richlands has one of the most prime spots. Located along Leslie Street, just north of Elgin Mills Road, Richlands is surrounded by a wealth of amenities, including grocery stores, banks, restaurants, and plenty of shopping.
“There’s a lot of greenspace in this area of Richmond Hill,” says Andrews. “During our planning of the community, we wanted to make sure that the new residents of the neighbourhood had a lot of beautiful, natural outdoor space right in their own community. More than 45% of the community space is park and greenspace! And no matter what the season, it’s easy to stay active thanks to the Richmond Green Sports Centre and Park that’s right across the street from Richlands.”
Let’s take a quick look at Richlands’ greenspace by the numbers:
- Nearly 73 hectares of total community space (including homes)
- More than 25 hectares of natural heritage space
- Nearly 3 hectares of parkland
- 6 hectares of additional open space
- 34 hectares of total greenspace
Families with active lifestyles will love living next to the Richmond Green Sports Centre and Park. It features soccer fields, baseball diamonds, a skatepark, skating rinks and trails, basketball courts, splash pads, and a sports dome for year-round activities. The Boynton House Art Exhibition Space showcases local talent, and the picnic areas are great for meeting friends and family for lunch.
When it comes to getting around town, Highways 404 and 407 are nearby, and VIVA and YRT busses are easily accessible. If you’re headed outside of Richmond Hill and want to leave the car behind, GO Transit can take you anywhere.
“Richlands is about enriching your family’s lifestyle,” says Andrews. “We’ve seen a lot of interest from online registrants already - we’re looking forward to seeing how everyone responds once we start releasing additional details gradually over the coming months.”
