Phase 3 of Hastings Estates offers affordable detached living!
By Lucas on Jun 20, 2016
With the upcoming release of Phase 3 at Hastings Estates, Batavia Homes is proving that you can still purchase a detached home for an affordable price.
The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is running low on new low-rise inventory, so many young couples, downsizers, and families looking for a new home to grow have extended their search to other parts of Southern Ontario. Even the resale market is low on supply, according to the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB).
The low inventories in both resale and new home markets, plus the strong demand for low-rise housing, are driving prices up rapidly to a point where a lot of first-time buyers are being priced out of the market. Some prices are so high that it doesn’t even make sense for downsizers to purchase because they would be dipping into their retirement fund too much.
Last May, the average selling price for a home in the resale market in the GTA was $751,908, which is nearly 16% higher than May 2015. The average price of a detached home in the 416 area was over $1.2 million. In the new home market, there’s only about two months of low-rise inventory available, and the average price as of April 2016 was just under $900,000.
Now, let’s take a look at the new low-rise homes available at Phase 3 of Hastings Estates. On June 25th, Batavia Homes will be opening Phase 3, which features 44’ and 50’ all brick bungalows and detached homes, ranging from approximately 1,000 to 2,400 square feet, and prices are starting from as low as $224,990!
A few of the standout interior features and finishes at Hastings Estates include your choice of quality kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, ceramic accessories and tile, upgraded broadloom, oak railings, Colonial and Classic style doors and trim, and an optional three-piece rough-in in the basement.
Living in Hastings
Hastings is a quaint village in Trent Hills, Northumberland County. The Trent River runs through the heart of Hastings, and Batavia’s community is just steps away from the water.
The village may have a small town atmosphere, but there are plenty of the amenities you need on a daily basis within a close proximity to Hastings Estates. The majority of Hastings amenities are found near the river, including places of worship, bakeries, restaurants, banks, an LCBO, parks, pharmacies, schools, and shopping.
The Village Marina is nearby, so if you have a boat or are considering investing in one, then you will definitely be able to take advantage of this nearby amenity. Even if you don’t have a boat, the riverside and parks offer plenty of trails and pathways, which are ideal for a stroll with friends and family or a group cycling excursion.
A few minutes to the west, along Albert Street West, is where you will discover many big box stores, such as Costco, Staples, and Canadian Tire. There is also a Cineplex Theatre, Shoppers Drug Mart, and plenty of popular restaurants.
