A Peek at 30 Ordnance

A few months ago, our friends at Cityzen announced that they were going to bring a new mixed-use community to Liberty Village at 30 Ordnance, but they left us waiting on the specifics of the development.
In this month's “Sam Talks,” Sam Crignano, president of Cityzen, offered some more information on what they have planned for the area.
“Once complete, the site will contain approximately five buildings. In the first phase we’ll see two buildings with residential podiums. In the later phases we’ll introduce a retail component, so the area will also serve as a public space.”
Crignano also mentioned the team that they assembled: “We’re using the architects at Hariri Pontarini, landscape design by Claude Cormier and interiors by Munge Leung. We’d like for it to be a community with its own identity but with the added benefits of being right next door to Liberty Village, King West and the waterfront.”
30 Ordnance could be Cityzen’s next landmark development in Toronto. Two years ago, an application was submitted to the City of Toronto that called for three condominium towers, ranging from 23 to 49 storeys. In recent months, another application was added that would see two more 49-storey condominium towers added to the site. At this point, we don’t know too much about the overall design, but given Cityzen’s amazing track record, we expect this one to be a real head-turner.
