Options for Homes Celebrating 20th Anniversary!
By Lucas on Jan 15, 2014
Options for Homes, a non-profit organization committed to developing cost-effective housing communities for low- to middle-income families, is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year! And by celebrating “this year,” we mean they are celebrating ALL YEAR.
There are 12 months in a year, 12 successful Options developments in Toronto, so obviously, there has to be 12 parties. All the residents of each building will get their own party right in their own common space (these are residents-only events, so if you start showing up at every one, someone will probably notice). What a fun way to celebrate a company’s anniversary!
Where some companies may have an internal office party, this sort of celebration puts a focus on the homeowners. “It makes the most sense to let our owners lead the way – without them, we wouldn’t be here,” says Options founder and CEO, Mike Labbé.
Options for Homes developed the first of three condominiums in what is now known as the Distillery District back in 1994. Since then, they have expanded greatly, developing cost-effective housing throughout Toronto, in Montreal, Waterloo, and Kingston, and they are currently working on a project in Limbe, Cameroon! Over the last 20 years, they have helped 4,000 households realize their dreams of homeownership.
“The acceleration of our ability to do more and more has been humbling. Good people all around the world are now sharing our vision for cost-effective homeownership, and thousands will benefit,” says Labbé.
The next party is Wednesday Jan. 29, 2014 at 39 Parliament. So if you call this building home, we just might see you there!
Congrats to the whole team at Options for Homes!
