As new home sales stayed steady through the summer and many builders and developers prepared for their fall releases and openings, happy homeowners at Pears on the Avenue moved into their new units!
We remember visiting with Menkes on the Pears site up at Avenue Road and Davenport back in the summer of 2013. Part of the site had hit ground level, and now just over two years later, people are calling this amazing new condo home!

Luckily for you, there are actually a few units remaining. There are two one-bedroom plans available and one two-bedroom unit and a two+den, ranging from 486 to 1,974 square feet. Now that the building is standing, you just have to visit the condo to understand why this would make the perfect home for a young professional couple or even downsizers or a small family. The building was designed by Page+Steele/IBI Group Architects and rises 20 storeys in a splendour of glass and metal with an array of stone, brick, and precast accents.

Let’s take a look at the Admiral floor plan, the largest unit available at Pears. Both bedrooms have ensuites, which is rare in a two-bedroom plan, and both bedrooms even have walk-in closets! The master-bedroom’s walk-in closet is actually divided into HIS and HERS sections, which suggests that a family with one child could be living here. The kitchen has a custom designed island and enough room for a dining area and is completely open to the living room. For some privacy, the library/den has two entryways with double doors. Lastly, the spacious balcony spans almost the entire length of the unit, with entrances from the master-bedroom, library/den, and living room. This allows all the spaces to be as bright as possible!

One of our favourite things about Pears is the location, rising proudly on the border between The Annex and Yorkville. The Annex is known for its historical residential architecture, trendy restaurants, independent shops, and its cultural diversity, while Yorkville holds the reputation of being Toronto’s most luxurious neighbourhood with a variety of fine dining options, art galleries, and high-end boutiques. Being situated between these two neighbourhoods allows the residents at Pears to have easy access to the best of both neighbourhoods.

There is also an abundance of green space in the area, the closest being Ramsden Park, which features walking trails, sports courts, and open grassy areas with benches and picnic tables. The park stretches from Avenue all the the way to Yonge, so it’s a beautiful walk if you ever need to hop on the Yonge subway line at Rosedale station.
In addition to the incredible and convenient neighbourhood amenities, Pears offers its own resident-exclusive amenities that make life all that much better up in the Yorkville/Annex area. Pears opens up with a soaring three-storey lobby that features a double helix staircase leading to the amenities level.
