NY2 Condos: Rent to Own

We love what Daniels is doing at NY2 Condos in North York. The rent-to-own program at NY2 is making it easier for people to eventually own their home, rather than throwing money away every month on rent. With that in mind, we decided to head up to the corner of Bayview and Sheppard to check out the construction progress Daniels has made at NY2. We met with Project Manager Brian Merkley, who explained the current work on the site.

“So far so good, but the month of January has been a challenge. The weather has not been our friend, but at the same time we are progressing. As you can see, we are starting the footings. We are done on the south end, and we are starting them on the north end. After that, we will start to move up and get to the ground level,” Brian explained.

He continued: “We are always going. When I started in the construction industry, it was an eight or nine month a year job; now we go 12 months to ensure we hit our deadlines. We are looking at spring of 2014 to be completed. Next, we will work on the structure and get ourselves to the ground floor. At that point, things will really progress.”

For those unaware, Daniels is offering a unique and innovate rent-to-own program at the corner of Bayview and Sheppard. It’s a program that gives qualified buyers the opportunity to purchase a home when they may not have the means to do so otherwise.

“We are really addressing what we have always thought was the biggest challenge for people, which is the down payment,” said Dominic Tompa, the broker of record at City Life Realty. “Getting the down payment can be so difficult. Everyone has the income, but the saving up of the required down payment is so difficult. That’s where programs like this come in.”

Through their efforts at NY2 and Daniels Firsthome, Daniels is certainly doing their part to help people achieve their dreams of homeownership, an effort that we applaud!
