New Renderings of The Well Released by Hariri Pontarini

Earlier this year, the Internet practically exploded when renderings of RioCan, Allied Properties, and Diamondcorp’s new master-plan, The Well, were released. Well, Hariri Pontarini has released new renderings, and once again, the project is making waves.
Rendering from January
The initial renderings that were released focused mostly on the exterior of the buildings. The new renderings highlight all the pedestrian areas, one of which features an elegant glass canopy. One of the most eye catching portions of the development is the office tower podium, with its soaring windows and accentuated vertical lines.

The Well is being proposed for the Front and Spadina site where the Globe and Mail building currently stands. The development will be another true live/work/play community for downtown Toronto, featuring retail, restaurants, office space, and residential.

“Our whole plan is to connect with the rich fabric that’s already surrounding the site at Spadina and Wellington,” said Lucy Cameron, Vice President of Diamondcorp, in an interview with Newinhomes.com earlier this year. “We’re also very excited about the opportunity to create a signature office building at the corner of Front and Spadina.”

In our interview with Cameron, she continued, discussing the pedestrian pathways that will punctuate The Well, allowing residents and the public to flow casually through the community.
The developers hope to be collecting registrations for The Well by 2015, and if all goes according to plan, shovels should be lifting dirt by 2016.
