New model suite and scale model at Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts

We recently had the opportunity to tour the new Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts presentation centre at Richardson and Queens Quay. We visited earlier this year during the summer when Daniels previewed the amenities and project to interested registrants, but neither the scale model or model suite were ready yet.
The scale model is one of the largest we’ve ever seen. It showcases Lighthouse Tower, the condo offices, and a transparent rectangular prism next to Lighthouse Tower, representing a future residential phase. At the moment, it looks like the second phase will be shorter than Lighthouse, but according to Dominic Tompa, the broker of record, CityLife Realty, Daniels isn’t quite at the point of having an official design ready.
When it comes to the condo offices, Daniels is one of the first developers in the city to sell office space as opposed to leasing it. “The reality is, we see a need in the marketplace for this type of product and I would suspect that this year and in the next few years a lot of other developers will recognize this and start doing the same thing,” Tompa explained.
The presentation centre also has renderings of the amenities mounted on the wall. We think Lighthouse Tower has some of the most interesting amenities we’ve seen in a downtown Toronto condo, such as the jam studio where you can practice playing the drums or any other instrument, an arts & crafts studio where there will be art classes, and a garden prep studio. All the amenities will be spread out between the 3rd and 11th floors.
One other amenity that we really like is the kitchen library. “You know how when you’re in a condo and you don’t keep some of the more unique appliances like bread makers and things like that?” asked Tompa. “Here, you’re able to come out and, like a library, borrow it out, and it’ll be curated so we’ll have culinary classes. And the space itself is great and opens up to the garden plots.”
The Yard
In addition to these amenities, there will also be The Yard, situated between the office condo and Lighthouse Tower, where there will be thousands of square feet of retail, coffee shops, and restaurants.
Another bonus of living at Lighthouse Tower is The Arts Passport, which gives residents exclusive and priority access to TIFF, Artscape, and NXNE events in Toronto. Whether you’re a film buff, gallery browser, or music lover, Lighthouse Tower has you covered.
The model suite is an example of The Williams floor plan, which is a 705 square foot, two-bedroom model with a 192 square foot balcony and eastern exposure. “The interior design is Cecconi Simone. I think they did a great job, I really love the work they do,” said Tompa.
The majority of the model suite is standard, except for the black wall coverings in the bedroom, the built in bookcases, and the textured ceiling. The island and integrated Miele appliances are standard in every suite. A highlight of the kitchen is definitely the ample amount of cupboard space, specifically the main cabinet over the sink that folds open like a garage door.

Last week, Daniels held a preview for the Inner Circle members (registrants that have paid for priority access). “It was great, it was packed here,” Tompa recalled. “It wasn’t just standing room only, there wasn’t even moving room.”
Pricing hasn’t been fully released yet and Inner Circle members just started booking appointments to purchase. To give us an idea of what prices are like, Tompa said that The Williams would be starting in the mid $400,000s. In total, there will be 534 units at Lighthouse Tower, and over 900 residential units once the second phase is ready.
Construction is also well under way with 70% of the shoring complete and 50% of the excavation.
The preview opening is scheduled for mid November, so if you haven’t signed up for the Inner Circle and want to be among the first to get a glimpse of the Lighthouse Tower units, then register today!
