New low-rise sales are heating up in the GTA’s east region
By Lucas on Oct 03, 2016
The latest report from Trimart Research Corporation announces a rise in new low-rise sales, though inventory remains at a record low. Approximately 64% of Trimart’s annual forecast has been achieved, but not all of September’s sales have been included yet.
The east region of the Total Market Area (TMA), places like Whitby, Pickering, and Oshawa, are seeing an influx of sales as more homebuyers look to the outskirts of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for more options and more affordable prices.
Listed below are a few of the most notable low-rise sites of the last month:
The Junction Condos by Pratt Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is The Junction Condos in Barrie by Pratt Homes. Their last month was very successful with 103 sales! The units range from 701 to 1,244 square feet, and there are only a few more units available. Barrie is another popular city for new low-rise sales because it’s directly north of the GTA and has major highways and transit connecting it to Toronto’s downtown core.
Gracefields by Lindvest
Coming in second with 32 sales last month is Gracefields, a new home community in Newcastle by Lindvest. The community features 40’ and 50’ detached homes ranging from 1,270 to 3,180 square feet. Newcastle is located just east of Bowmanville along Highway 401, so east-west travel across the GTA is super easy.
Country Lane by Andrin Homes
The third spot is taken by Country Lane, a new home community in Whitby by Andrin Homes that saw 31 sales last month. Country Lane features 26’, 36’, and 45’ detached homes, ranging from 1,827 to 3,334 square feet. Whitby is turning into a very hot spot for new low-rise sales and currently has the third most sales behind Brampton and Milton.
Highland Ridge by Freure Homes
Coming in fourth with 12 sales last month is Highland Ridge in Cambridge by Freure Homes. The community features 38’ and 40’ detached homes ranging from 2,032 to 3,484 square feet, with prices starting at $478,900.
Jasper Village by Conservatory Group
The final position on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by Jasper Village, a new home community in Milton by Conservatory Group that saw 10 sales last month. Jasper Village features townhomes, 25’ semis, and 36’ detached homes, ranging from 1,145 to 3,721 square feet. Prices start at $519,990. As of the end of August, Milton had over 1,000 new low-rise sales.
