As part of the latest Burlington waterfront revitalization project by MADY, Delta Hotels and Resorts recently announced their plans for a new four-star hotel.
This exciting hotel building is part of the Burlington Bridgewater project, which the renowned, 52-year old Canadian hotel company is referring to as ‘Expect Even More.’ Taking advantage of “some of the most spectacular views in the country,” Ken Greene, the President and CEO of Delta Hotels and Resorts says that the project will turn Burlington into one of the most exceptional places for people to travel to in the province.
“The property’s prime waterfront and downtown location with unobstructed views of Lake Ontario is what sets it apart from the competition, and its modern design and amenities will position the hotel as a product leader in the local marketplace,” says Greene.
An important component in the Bridgewater development, the hotel will be full-service featuring a modern design and a strong focus on guest satisfaction, starting with access to stunning views of the exclusive location. “We are pleased to introduce Delta’s elevated four-star full-service hotel as a valuable component of our Bridgewater development,” says Charles Mady, CEO, MADY. “Delta’s modern design and focus on exceeding guest expectations combined with our prime waterfront location and stunning views will deliver an exceptional experience for guests travelling to the region.”
Bringing over 150 ModeRoom guest rooms and suites, 8,000 square feet of conference space including a 3,000 square foot main ballroom and a combination of executive ballroom style meeting rooms, a full-service restaurant and lounge as well as an indoor pool and fitness centre, Delta will provide Burlington with the ideal opportunity to welcome worldwide tourists. Directly situated on the waterfront. Delta Burlington Waterfront has access to the Waterfront Trail and Lake Ontario, and is surrounded by convenient amenities like shopping, indoor and outdoor sporting facilities and attractions (including the Royal Botanical Gardens, Joseph Brant Museum, the Burlington Art Centre, etc).
Mayor Rick Goldring is excited to see how the development will revitalize Burlington, boasting that MoneySense Magazine has proclaimed the city as one of the best kept secrets of the GTA. “We think this project is very becoming in a city thats ranked best medium size city in the GTA,” he says. “We’ve got a wonderful waterfront in our front yard, but this particular landmark development is critical to our waterfront downtown development and our views are that downtown is only going to be enhanced by this particular project.”

The development project includes the addition of three buildings on a two-acre site in the core of Burlington’s downtown waterfront. Including two residential buildings by MADY, a 22-storey high-rise and a seven-storey building, nearby locals are happy to see that they will have easy access to the waterfront and see the area modernized to befit the recent changes it has experienced in the past decade. “Burlington downtown has really been changing over the past 10 years we’ve seen a lot of business come in, a lot of residential,” says Marianne Meed Ward, the regional councillor. “So this project fits within that, but the most important and special part about this project is that its on the waterfront but they’ve preserved public access. I think that’s the key here, that people in Burlington care very passionately about their waterfront.”
Construction on Delta Burlington Waterfront will commence in 2015, with completion scheduled for 2018. We can’t wait to watch the Burlington Bridgewater master-plan take shape!
