After a winter of hibernation, Canadians look forward to spring as much for the weather as for a chance to start anew in the home of their dreams. Moving Checklist
Confirm date for packing and loading
Determine what items are to be discarded and hold garage sale or giveaway
Advise post office of new address and effective date
Arrange to have utilities disconnected:
Telephone
Gas or Oil
Send change of address to:
Insurance company
Bank and credit card companies
Vehicle registration and driver's license
Clubs
Obtain veterinarian records for pets
Other things to remember:
Electrical appliances-arrange for disconnection or servicing
Give away frozen foods
Drain fuel from lawn mower and other power equipment
Make a floor plan of new residence for driver
Obtain a contact number at destination and give to driver
Gather together items going with you in your suitcase
