Monarch and Mattamy Break Ground at Riva del Lago in Etobicoke

Big news for the Etobicoke waterfront - the ground has been broken at Riva del Lago, marking the first major milestone since Mattamy Homes officially announced the purchase of Monarch.
“We are excited to celebrate this milestone and look forward to being an integral part of the revitalization of the waterfront community of Humber Bay Shores,” says Linda Robinson, Vice President Sales and Marketing High-Rise, Monarch.
Newinhomes.com recently went on BILD’s condo tour of the Etobicoke waterfront, and the tour guide, Pauline Lierman, the Director of Market Research at Urbanation, informed us that this area really took off with regards to condo development in the early 2000s. Today, there are about 6,200 active condo units in the area and around 5,400 resale units. And who has the largest chunk of active units on the waterfront? You guessed it - Monarch.
When Monarch started building on Etobicoke’s waterfront, they were the first developers in the area to strategically design their buildings so that the outdoor spaces (balconies and terraces) had better views of Lake Ontario. Things are no different with Riva. Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, the 16-storey condo will feature suites with stunning panoramic views of the lake.
With construction under way, Riva is over 70% sold, and there is still an incredible selection of suites available, ranging from 551 to just over 1,400 square feet. A few of the high quality features and finishes at Riva include 9’ ceilings, wide plank laminate flooring, imported porcelain tile, ENERGY STAR washer and dryer packages, and contemporary kitchens with sleek quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances.
As more and more condos break ground and come to completion in the Humber Bay Shores area, new retail, restaurants, and cafes are popping up. What we really love about this neighbourhood is how walkable it is. The Waterfront Trail edges the water and provides the ideal passage for east and west travel. When more of the buildings are complete and all the retail space is filled at ground level, it will be a beautiful waterfront stretch that any condo buyer would love to call home.
Riva is also bringing its own collection of amenities to the waterfront, which will be exclusive to residents. There will be two lobbies with 24/7 concierge service, a party room with caterer’s kitchen and private dining for entertaining small and large groups, a billiards room, a spacious terrace, a Silver Screen theatre, as well as an indoor pool, hot tub, and dry saunas. There will also be a two-level fitness studio where you can hit the treadmill when it’s too cold to run along the water.

We’ve been to the Riva presentation centre a few times, and it is still one of our favourites. When designing the presentation centre, Monarch took advantage of the view of the lake and built super tall ceilings and glass walls. In the middle of the glass enclosure there are kitchen and bath vignettes, so you can get a real feel for what it would be like to live on the water.
There is currently a special move-in bonus being offered to purchasers that can save you up to $25,000, so you should visit the presentation centre at 2167 Lake Shore Boulevard West as soon as possible. The hours are Monday to Thursday from 12 pm to 6 pm and 12 pm to 5 pm on the weekend. You can also call 416-495-3544 for more information.
