Minto’s Kingmeadow Welcomes its First Residents!

Earlier this month, Minto welcomed the very first residents of their North Oshawa community, Kingmeadow.
Yolanda and Jose Torres were the first ones to register for Kingmeadow and they were honoured with the very first set of keys. “I’ve never been excited like this in my whole life,” said Yolanda. Vince Santino, Vice President of Development for Minto, and Amanda Wilson Watkins, the Vice President of Marketing and Sales, literally rolled out the red carpet for the Torreses. They even celebrated with a toast of champagne!
In 2012, after 30 long years as an accounting officer at the University of Toronto, Yolanda decided that she was ready to retire and spend more time with her three daughters. With their hearts set on the great North Oshawa neighbourhood, the Torreses jumped at the opportunity when Minto launched Kingmeadow.
When Yolanda and Jose purchased at Kingmeadow, they moved in with one of their daughters in Whitby and eagerly awaited the day they would step across the threshold of their new home. They were so excited to be a part of the community that they would drive to North Oshawa every Sunday to attend the church, which is just minutes from Kingmeadow.
“I find everyone in the North Oshawa is so nice. At our church we were welcomed very warmly, everyone was all smiles,” said Yolanda. “I’ve already met some of my future neighbours at the Minto Kingmeadow holiday party, I think there will be a lot of lovely young families in the area.”
