Trimart Highlights Top 3 Cities for New Low-Rise
By Lucas on Nov 07, 2014
As mentioned in the report released last week by Trimart Research Corporation, the fall has been a very busy season for the Total Market Area’s (TMA) new low-rise market. Inventory is up thanks to more than 50 new openings and releases, and it was the second best selling September on record in the last six years. As sales figures continue to roll in, Trimart announced that Brampton is still the TMA’s top selling city for new low-rise homes with 3,911 total sales for 2014 (and counting). Milton is in a distant second at 1,055 sales, and Toronto is even further back with 882.
Listed below are a few notable sites of the last month:
Kingmeadow - via Minto
Coming in first on this week’s Trimart report is Kingmeadow, Minto’s Oshawa community, which saw 52 sales last month. The community features a wide selection of townhomes and 36’ and 43’ detached homes, ranging from 1,068 to 3,502 square feet. Ever since Kingmeadow opened it has been a frequenter of Trimart’s weekly reports. The community is making a strong impact on the gradually developing Oshawa streetscape, and homebuyers started moving in earlier this year. Prices for the remaining homes start at $229,990.
Wildflowers - via Mattamy Homes
The second position is taken by another Trimart veteran - Mattamy Homes’ Wildflowers in Kitchener. There were 44 sales at the community last month. At Wildflowers, Mattamy is offering an array of townhomes, as well as 30’, 36’, and 43’ detached homes, ranging from 1,263 to 3,164 square feet. Prices start at $254,990.
Uptownes - via Geranium Homes
Placing third with 13 sales last month is Uptownes by Geranium Homes. This Stouffville residence is a part of Geranium’s larger Cardinal Point development. These “stacked back-to-back townhomes” are unlike anything you’ve ever seen in Stouffville, or anywhere else for that matter! The homes range from 1,401 to 1,594 square feet and prices start at $394,900. We recently had to opportunity to tour the two new, fully decorated models, and we have to say, they were some of the nicer models we’ve toured in a while!
The Oaks - via Reid's Heritage Homes
We have a tie for third this week, as The Oaks by Reid’s Heritage Homes also had 13 sales last month. This Kitchener community is comprised of urban townhomes, which range from 604 to 852 square feet. Prices for this community start as low as $194,900, making the community an excellent option for first-time homebuyers.
Upper West Side - via Aspen Ridge Homes
Fourth place is taken by a luxury community in Thornhill called Upper West Side. Aspen Ridge Homes’ offering at the master-planned community features 41’ and 50’ detached homes, ranging from 2,878 to 4,885 square feet. Prices start at $1,124,990.
Fieldstone - via Brookfield Homes
The community taking the fifth position on this week’s Trimart report is the perfect option for those looking for a larger home for an affordable price. Fieldstone by Brookfield Residential is a detached home community in Mono. The community had 11 sales last month and the remaining lots are all 60’ and 70’. The homes range from 2,240 to 3,980 square feet and prices start as low as $599,990.
