Menkes' Somerset Community BBQ Cooks Up Great Fun!

Menkes Developments, one of Durham’s top builders and winner of the DRHBA Community of the Year 2011, hosted their 2nd Homeowner Appreciation BBQ in the Somerset Community in Ajax on Saturday, June 23rd.
Approximately 420 homeowners were in attendance for this fun-filled event. Bouncy castles, a creature show, face painting, balloon animals, games and great food (the ice cream truck was a hit!) were centre stage on this sunny afternoon!
The day was closed off by an amazing raffle that consisted of prizes such as the new iPad, Xbox360, a stainless steel BBQ, Blue Jays tickets and a host of other fabulous gifts donated by Menkes’ valued suppliers and many retailers at the Somerset Plaza located within the Somerset Community.
Rogers, Bell and the Ajax Fire Department also took part by handing out materials and answering questions. The fire truck was a big draw for the children, and they were also given toy fire hats by the crew. Finally, Menkes would like to thank all the homeowners at Somerset who donated non-perishable food items to the BBQ for Menkes to donate to Feed the Need Durham.
