Mayfield Village Now Under Construction
By Lucas on Sep 23, 2014
It is always refreshing when a team of builders do something different in order to celebrate a milestone. Last weekend to celebrate Mayfield Village in Brampton now being under construction, Aspen Ridge Homes, CountryWide Homes, Greenpark, Marycroft Homes, and Regal Crest Homes invited Miss India-Canada, Annu Gaidhu, to tour the presentation centres and take photos with staff and homebuyers.
Annu Gaidhu was a pleasure to chat with, and is very ambitious with a number of projects on the go, such as attempting to get yoga for children introduced to school boards’ curriculums and starting her own business, all while studying child care at Ryerson University.
Aside from the beauty aspect of the Miss India competition, the winner is selected based on ambition and ability to represent and respect the Indian culture. With such a prominent South Asian population in this area of Brampton, Miss India was the perfect special guest to commemorate this Mayfield Village milestone.
Like Gaidhu, Mayfield Village plans to make a difference in Brampton - a big one! The first phase of the community features a wide selection of townhomes, semis, and singles, with prices starting in the mid $300,000s. The singles in Phase 1 are quickly selling, and there is a great collection of semis and towns available.
One of the most interesting traits of Mayfield Village is the live/work concept the builders are bringing the to neighbourhood. The live/work towns feature retail on the ground floor and towns on the upper floors. The retail is completely independent from the units; if you wish to purchase retail space, you do not have to purchase a home above it, but you always could and it would make getting to work super easy!
The idea behind the live/work towns is that local amenities like grocery stores, coffee shops, and laundromats should be within walking distance, and the builders are accomplishing this by strategically locating the homes in a manner so that no home in the community is more than a five minute walk to ground floor retail space.
This twist on low-rise development in the 905 is kind of like living in a downtown setting without the hustle and bustle of the big city. Many people think that if they are moving out to the 905, then they have to mentally and financially prepare to drive everywhere, but the builders at Mayfield Village are changing that.
Speaking of neighbourhood amenities, Phase 1 of Mayfield Village also has a proposed school right in the heart of the community, as well as a proposed park.
Located at Dixie Road and Countryside Drive in Brampton, Mayfield Village will have access to a variety of other neighbourhood services and conveniences, including FreshCo, Metro, and Walmart. There are also many schools, such as Carberry Public School, Lougheed Middle School, and St. Marguerite D’Youville secondary School.

Now that Mayfield Village is under construction, homebuyers are taking notice. Sales in Phase 1 are picking up speed and the singles are almost completely sold out!
