The Low-Rise Market’s Top Selling Cities
By Lucas on Feb 03, 2015
As new low-rise sales for January start to roll in, Trimart has released the top selling cities for 2014. Coming in first is Brampton with a tremendous 4,948 sales, followed by Toronto with 1,174 sales and Oakville slipped into third at the end of the year with 1,152 sales. The fourth highest selling city was Milton with 1,098 sales, followed by Oshawa with 1,006. The Total Market Area’s (TMA) low-rise scene did very well last year and with a few new openings and releases in January, sales are expected to be strong.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Sharon Village - via Great Gulf Homes
Taking the first position is a new home community in a town that wasn’t amongst the top five best selling cities of 2014. Sharon Village by Great Gulf Homes is a new community in East Gwillimbury. There is a large selection of 32’, 36’, and 40’ detached homes at Sharon Village, ranging from 1,520 to 3,600 square feet. With prices starting below average at $500,990, it’s not surprising that Great Gulf saw 33 sales at this community last month.
Downsview Park - via Mattamy Homes
With 18 sales last month, the second spot is taken by Downsview Park, a townhome community by Mattamy Homes and Urbancorp in Toronto, the TMA’s second best selling city last year. Downsview Park features stacked townhomes and rear lane townhomes ranging from 555 to 2,341 square feet. With prices starting at $279,990, Downsview Park is a great option for young couples, first-time homebuyers, and young single professionals. The great thing is that there are units large enough for couples who want to start a family. From this point on, this week’s Trimart report only highlights communities in Toronto and Brampton, the two topping the list of best-selling TMA cities.
Lakeside - via Empire
Tying for second, also achieving 18 sales last month, is Lakeside by Empire Communities. Located in Brampton, this community offers a wide variety of home types including urban semis, townhomes, and 38’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,254 to 3,437 square feet, and prices start as low as $360,990. Empire Communities recently underwent a total rebrand and announced their entrance into the US market. With a fresh look and a new market, Empire will continue to make waves in the TMA’s low-rise market scene throughout 2015.
Evermore - via Daniels
Coming in third is Evermore, a Daniels community in Brampton that had 11 sales last month. The community features an array of townhomes ranging from 1,632 to 2,075 square feet. The Daniels FirstHome program has been successful here, and the remaining homes are available for as little as $407,900.
Valleylands - via Fieldgate
Placing fourth is Valleylands by Fieldgate Homes. There were five sales at this Brampton community last month. If you’re looking for a wide selection of detached homes and lot sizes, Valleylands is the place to be. The homes are available on lots from 38’ to 70’, and the homes range from 2,010 to 4,198 square feet. Prices at Valleylands start at $566,990 and range up to more than $1 million.
Towns of Don Mills - via Winfield
The final position on the Trimart Hot Spots report is snagged by Towns of Don Mills, a Winfield Residential community in Toronto that had four sales last month. The Towns of Don Mills features urban townhomes ranging from 996 to 1,683 square feet with prices starting at $440,990.
