LJM Developments announces plans for a new condo development in Stoney Creek

LJM Developments recently announced that they will soon be unveiling a new condo project along Highway 8 in Stoney Creek!
The project is still in the planning phases, but we have some details for you. According to LJM, the condo will feature close to 100 suites with one- and two-bedroom plans, some of which will have dens. The contemporary design will be stepped on the one side that will face existing residential to blend seamlessly into the neighbourhood and minimize the impact on the streetscape.
Liaquat Mian, CEO, LJM Developments says “Stoney Creek’s building design is inspired by architecture from the Tribeca neighbourhood of New York where brick, stone, and glass intertwine seamlessly and provide an aura of classic modern. Residents will enjoy beautiful views of the escarpment and few units will also have a lake view.”
There will be a collection of building amenities exclusive to residents, which will include a fitness centre, an entertainment room, a sky lounge, underground parking, and a concierge lobby.
Stoney Creek is already a highly sought after area in which to live, and since it’s been announced that there will be a new GO Train Station completed by 2020, the community has become an obvious hot spot for future growth. The new GO Train Station will be a very short drive from LJM’s new condo, keeping residents connected with nearby major urban centres.
One of the reasons that LJM’s new condo is so highly anticipated is because they have developed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of design and introducing innovative ways to improve the lifestyle of residents.
For example, Waterview Condos in Grimsby is currently under construction and it will be the first high-rise on the waterfront. In order to take advantage of the waterfront location, LJM opted for a single-loaded design for Phase 1 of the condo. This means that every unit is on one side of the building with views of the lake. The other side faces the road and has an interesting design to benefit commuters.
The Waterview Condos presentation centre was recently redesigned and Phase 2 will start construction in Fall 2016.
Ironstone in Burlington
Another example is LJM’s Ironstone condo in Burlington, which is complete and standing near Appleby and Upper Middle. This is one of the city’s tallest residential buildings and it was one of the first residential high-rises to feature full geothermal heating and cooling in Burlington. Ironstone was completed in 2013 and it was designed to be green right from the get-go. Clearly, LJM had an idea that sustainability was going to be an important factor to homebuyers.
We will be keeping a close eye on the LJM Developments’ Stoney Creek condo project, so stay tuned for more information!
