Kylemore’s annual holiday party collects toys for 200 families in Markham

Kylemore Communities recently hosted its annual holiday party for its trades, consultants, and colleagues. Every year, Kylemore requests that guests bring at least one new toy to be donated to Markham families in need to help brighten up their holiday season.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Kylemore has collected toys for the Christmas Food and Toy Drive, organized by the Unionville Alliance Church and its partner churches. The churches also distribute hampers to local families for the Hampers of Hope initiative.

Russell Foy, a Hampers of Hope volunteer, was in attendance to receive the sizable donation. “We are extremely grateful to Kylemore and their many partners for the wonderful boost our annual toy drive receives,” he said. “With their support we will be able to help 200 families this year.”

Patrick O’Hanlon, President of Kylemore Communities, has become known for his philanthropy and charitable work. “Helping others is what unites a community and strengthens our ties to each other,” he said. “It is part of our DNA to give generously, and it’s heartwarming to know that the Christmas Season will be brighter for many children because of the generous donations our guests made to the toy drive.”

Over the last nine years, the Kylemore Kares Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $1 million for local charities and not-for-profit organizations. Kylemore has been building and developing the luxurious master-planned Angus Glen community since 1997, so they have deep roots in this community.
