During the summer, Kylemore Communities held their 8th annual Kylemore Kares Golf Tournament at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham. The sold out event hosted 200 golfers for a day of birdies and eagles, dining, amazing prizes, live music, and industry mingling.Kylemore’s trades and consultants and other industry friends all participated, with 100% of the money raised going towards a charitable organization. In previous years, the Kylemore Kares tournament has raised money for a number of local organizations, including the ALS Society of Canada, UofT Varsity Blues Women’s Hockey League, Unionville Home Society Foundation, Tony Roman Memorial Hockey Tournament, Unionville-Milliken Soccer Club, Kidsport, Markham Jazz Festival, Children’s Wish, “Through Their Eyes Charity Golf Classic” for Toronto General Hospital and Credit Valley Hospital, Lymphoma Foundation Canada and Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation. This year, as well as last year, the York Region Children’s Aid Foundation received support from the charity golf tournament. To date, the Kylemore Kares golf Tournament has raised over $1 million for community organizations. “The true winners of this tournament are the charities and non-profit groups we are able to assist each year, as a result of this monumental fundraising effort,” said Kylemore’s President Patrick O’Hanlon. “Everything we raise goes right back to the community. We support universities and hospitals, as well as smaller community-based organizations and individuals who need our help.” Patrick O’Hanlon (seated) takes a well deserved rest.Earlier this summer, Kylemore hosted its annual BBQ for the Angus glen community, which they have been hosting for the last 18 years. There was a parade, local shops set up to mingle and meet residents of Angus Glen, and of course, there was some delicious barbecue grilled up by O’Hanlon himself. “Our promise to our new home buyers is that they can appreciate life in a Kylemore community,” said O’Hanlon. “This free family-friendly event underscores our commitment to enhancing their lifestyle in many different ways.”Current Kylemore projects in Markham
