Kylemore Communities raises $150,000 for charities

On Friday, May 7th, 2010, Kylemore Communities hosted their Annual Charity Awards at their head office in Markham, Ontario, and dolled out $150,000 to worthy causes. Money was raised through donations as well as community fundraising initiatives, including the Kylemore Charity Golf Tournament.
Bill Fisch, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Municipality of York and Markham Ward 8 Councillor Alex Chiu were on hand to acknowledge a $20,000 donation from Kylemore Communities for Dinner for the Arts York Region and $10,000 for the Markham Miracle for Haiti campaign.
Sara Sterling and Cailey Stollery President of Angus Glen Golf Club were in attendance along with Suzette Strong, CEO of Markham Hospital Foundation, and Allan Bell Director, Corporate Sponsorship & Special Events, to accept a donation of $32,000 to Markham/Stouffville Hospital. These funds are proceeds from the Angus Glen Marathon, and will support the mental health division for children as well as the emergency department.
Kylemore also presented a cheque to St. Thomas of Villa Nova College for $10,000 dollars. According to School Head, Paul Paradiso, this donation will enable Villa Nova to add a full resource lab of twenty two computers for its students as part of its new Library and Guided Learning Centre.
Some of the funds raised also benefited The B-Strong Fund, Sunnybrook Foundation in support of Dr. Marsellis work in Dementia Research, Hockey for Homeless, Unionville Village Festivals and Unionville, Ontario Youth Soccer League.
