Kitchener leading the Golden Triangle in new home sales
By Lucas on May 29, 2017
According to Trimart Research Corporation’s latest report, new low-rise sales were down 3.3% across the Total Market Area (TMA) in April 2017. Despite the drop in overall sales, Kitchener led the Golden Triangle Region with strong gains, and in the north, Richmond Hill saw an increase in sales.
With the new low-rise supply shortage continuing across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), expect to see an uptick in sales in the Golden Triangle and other surrounding areas, like Simcoe County and Durham Region (part of the GTA).
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Richmond Green by Mattamy Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Richmond Green, a new community in Richmond Hill by Mattamy Homes. This successful opening is a big reason why Richmond Hill saw an increase in sales in April, accounting for 137 sales. Richmond Green features condo townhomes and 36’ detached homes ranging from 1,138 to 3,145 square feet. Stay tuned for pricing on the next release!
Woodhaven South by Activa Group
Placing second with 90 sales last month is Woodhaven South, a new home community in Kitchener by Activa Group. The community features townhomes ranging from 1,630 to 2,545 square feet, with prices starting from $489,900.
Mount Pleasant by Rosehaven Homes
Coming in third with 78 sales last month is The Neighbourhoods of Mount Pleasant, a new home community in Brampton by Rosehaven Homes. The recent release features townhomes ranging from 1,653 to 1,843 square feet, with prices starting from $689,990. Sales may have levelled off in the GTA, but Brampton has been the strongest city for new low-rise sales for the last few years. We predict families will continue to flock to Brampton this year to buy new homes.
Thompson Towns by Mattamy Homes
Coming in fourth is Thompson Towns, a new home community in Scarborough by Mattamy Homes. Yes, Mattamy had a big month! There were 67 sales at Thompson Towns last month. The community features condo units and freehold townhomes, ranging from 1,614 to 2,026 square feet with prices starting at $704,990.
River Oaks Town by Julianna Homes
The final place on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by River Oaks Town, a new Whitby community by Julianna Homes. There were 18 sales last month. River Oaks Town features condo units ranging from 1,887 to 1,951 square feet with prices from $700,000.
